I know i tested the backlights to see if they all work but how can i prove a tube is not pulling too much current , do you know of any way to test a tube this way any one. A tube that pulls too much current can cause shut down.

You can use an old CFL/energy saving lamp as an inverter tester, see here:

What do you think about this idea , i remove the connector on the suspect lamp that connects to the inverter, i then solder to the board where the connector goes 2 wires and solder these to
a lamp out of a scrap tv. Just a simple substitution test. Only 6 tubes in this tv so i might try it.

          That would work too.

Could you give me a link to this forum you mention please please vince. I would like to read what they say about it , i don't think the inverter board on this tv here is the same though but i would be interested to read about it.

Re: Slightly Different Vestel 17PW26-4 Problem

Some thing crossed my mind about trying to use some kind of dummy load in place of a tube. For testing purposes of course. What about putting a high voltage high wattage resistor in place of the tube . I still suspect a possible inverter or tube probem with this annoyance of a set.
It ran for 5 minutes today , i thought my re flowing of joints on the inverter board had cured it but sure enough it started going back to standby again. Only last a few seconds again after the initial good 5 minute run. Got 3 electrolytics on the main board to test tomorrow and going to test the SM caps on the main board. A main board will be best part of £45 so have to keep testing. I will be testing voltages on the main board too, might just be a regulator or a bad joint or connection if i am lucky. I tried heating components with the hair dryer and cooling with freezer , but nothing seems temperature sensitive . Update :-

I Just found a replacement main board for £20.

Re: Slightly Different Vestel 17PW26-4 Problem

Hi guys, i have problem with a 32'' tv Schaub Lorenz. LT32-354AB
Ι have the usual problem with flashes stand by led and the tv won't turn on.
So i want to check firstly the power supply (17pw26-4)
                    I measure the 3.3v and 5v voltages but no 12v and 24v.
I try to connect the 5v voltage (pin 14) with the BL ON OFF(pin 8) but again it won't turn on and i haven't voltages 12,24.
How can turn on only the power supply to check it?

                      Vestel 17IPS71 + 17MB82S - no standby
                      by cruiser_
                      hello there,
I am trying to fix a Walker 40 TV - it has Vestel 17IPS71 3R3 as PSU and 17MB82S for logic.

                      How I got here...
The TV had shorted USB connector, which I fixed. TV turned on. Ran for a few hours on HDMI input. Started to see some dark dots/patterns on the screen as seen on the photo.
I restored to factory setting. The TV has rebooted only to a blinking standby LED. It sat there for a number of minutes after which I disconnected it.
Now, after plugging it back in - there is not even a standby LED.

My 17IPS71 provides 12V, no standby...

Troubleshooting Vestel TV, has standby, but cannot turn ON
                      by Adenitz
                      Hello,
I need advice in troubleshooting Telefunken TV (it is actually Vestel). There is red Standby light but TV cannot be turned on either by remote control (which is good and tested on another TV) or by actual on/off switch at the back of the TV.
Power board is Vestel 17IPS71 and I'm not sure about the mainboard, it seems like 17MB82S
Both boards are shown in the attached photos.

What is normally first that is checked in this case. I have removed power board, make sure it has no dangerous voltage on the big caps and check many components (transistors and diodes)...

                      Hello!
Bought a used TV last weekend and everything was fine when I tested it. Back home I tried to connect it with my PC via HDMI. I noticed that the picture didn't quite fit in the TV's picture and so I tried to change the output resolution on my PC and then changed the picture formats on the TV. I still didn't get the picture right and stopped to google the problem and then it happened - the TV died on me after I got to use it for 30min.

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
                      by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

                      Mainboard: VESTEL 17MB171 Chassis: VES315WNGB - 2D - N52
The TV was stuck on the logo and I couldn't access the update menu.
I couldn't find the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 and updated it with the Toshiba 32WA2063DG - Vestel 17MB171 firmware.
The image result was good, but the image is inverted.
The image rotation/mirror function doesn't exist in the Menu Server. I can't correct the image.
Do you have the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 - Vestel 17MB171 motherboard or a solution to rotate the image in...
