    Vizio LCD TV Board Compatibility Question

    I have a 42" Vizio LCD television with a bad main board. It powers up, backlight comes on, white logo, but no display.

    I found a 47" Vizio LCD with a cracked screen. Is the difference in screen size an issue or would this not be a good donor?

      I'm going to say the 2 probably are not compatible. But for giggles what are the 42" & 47" model numbers.

          Did you check the surface mounted fuse and the Voltage on the fuse yet?

              I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

              Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

              I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

              The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

              With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              My main board is a 17MB12-2 and reads underneath that the following number 160807 LF,
              Question is this board going to fit? ( see link) board is identical but from a different brand of tv but board number is same as in that it’s a 17mb12-2 board

              This board is cheapest I can find. Also note:ordered one that was from a technica, an exact replacement, it arrived yesterday and when I fitted it it was a dead board, didn’t even show the standby light. When I piut the old board back in the tv worked but the issue...

              TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board

              All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
              • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
              • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

              Hi!!
              Yesterday I was installing a new Wifi thermostat for my domestic gas water heater model Vaillant 242/2-3, and accidentlly one wire from mains touched one wire from the thermostat output contacts. This shut off the heater so I finished installing the thermostat and then went out to check the heater

              I found one fuse blown (T2 250V). Replaced it with another equivalent fuse and it blew right away. I measured L-N in mains input and I sometimes got 4K but sometimes, not sure why, I got 100 Ohm...

              Hi There,

              This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

              After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
