First time poster trying to fix this thing. I do have an electronics background although my component level troubleshooting is a little rusty. Any help you guys can give on here is appreciated.
Last time I checked this plasma display when it died it had no picture but sound. After sitting in storage for the last year or so decided to take it out and troubleshoot. I found a bad fuse on the y-sus board which I replaced, but didn't fix the issue. All other fuses that I could see on every other board checked fine.
Noticed when both the y-sus and z-sus boards are plugged in that I can initially turn on the set (relay does engage and status LED on the front goes green), but when turning it off I do not hear the relay kick off even though the status LED on the front does turn amber indicating stand by. With just the z-sus board plugged in the power relay energizes and de energizes with a push of the power button, status LED functions as normal. With just the y-sus board plugged in only, initially when the set is plugged in the relay will power on but will not de energize again to shut down, even though the status LED on the front shows standby.
Judging by the blown fuse on the y-sus board, I suspect a defective board. Am I on the right track?
