Re: Phillips 22 inch no power high pitch transformer noise

Had same problem. Did find the D688 diode defective (current flows on both directions). Before replacing it, I read the whole thread and decided to check on capacitors. I found that, although no capacitors where bulged, Capacitor C639 had produced heat damage on the board. I will try to replace the Capacitor and the Diode if possible at all. I will let you know how it goes.

Also found heat damage on Resistor R637. So here is my shopping list:
      - Diode replacement for D668: 1watt, 20volts
      - Capacitor replacement for C639: 220uF, 10volts
      - Resistor replacement for R637: 0.25watt, 120**-Ohms

Correction: "D688" on my previous comment was a misstype. It was "D668"; the same that showed problems for Tonymon1.

I am currently typing this reply using the repaired Philips TV as a computer monitor. I only replaced the D668 diode. The capacitor and the resistor tested ok, so I kept the original ones.

        Thanks.

Would a shorted diode cause picture to fade to white over 5 to 10 min?

Denon AVR 1908, High pitch noise on Surround back Left channel after long overhaul

            Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...

            Original Xbox 1.0 PSU: Foxlink FTPS-0002 Rev. B. — 12 V low, 5 V high — transformer?
            by ohren
            Hello!

I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

            Measured voltages with no load:

            After rectifier diodes
            12V: 6.17 V
            5V: 5.67 V

Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
            12V: 2-2.5 V
            5V: 1.04 V

I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

            Replacing capacitors in Evga PSU
            by competition
I have Evga G2 1300w and I want to replace all the electrolytic capacitors because PSU is already 12+ years old and I want to give it more life before any capacitor does damage. There are no blown capacitors, but I want to protect myself by replacing them with new ones as a precaution. And now comes the main problem. I have 5 pieces of Bulk (I think they are KZE) 16v3300uf with dimensions 10/35/5, but I can't find them in that size, only 12.5/35/5.I have one KY 16v1000uf 8.5/19/3.5, one KY 16v220uf I think it is 6/13/3.5 but it is in holes of pitch 5 I have 4 pieces of KZE 16v2200uf with dimensions...

Help choosing replacement transformer for Levoit 600S SMPS
            by learnmore
            Hello Community,

I'm attempting to repair the SMPS on a Levoit 600S air purifier. The transformer is likely open. It has six pins. 2 pairs on the primary side (one pair tested open) and 1pair of legs on the secondary side. Legs on the secondary side are spread wide apart (end-to-end). I've circled them in blue. Dimentons of the transformer are 22x23mm. Marking on the transformer are EE16 1.9mH-B. Fuse for the powerboard is fuse 250V 3.15A. I've been unable to find an exact match and I'm hoping for some help here to find a suitable replacment.

            Peace

Panasonic TX-L50B6B | High pitched noise and black lines
            by oldmanhouse
Hi folks, I have an issue with my 7 year old Panasonic TX-L50B6B that has appeared within the last few days.

            The symptoms are:
            • A high pitched "buzzing" / "whining" noise coming from the TV when it is turned on. There is no noise during standby, and the noise persists with all AV connections removed.
            • There are noticable horizontal lines in the picture. Upon closer inspection it looks like every few rows of pixels are dead/black.

Attached is a close-up of the picture in "test mode", to demonstrate the rows of black lines.
