not at all,this seem a totally different issue(now its scary)
the vizio logo stays on when the tv screen is blank and it still has sound and sometimes it just freezes but still has sound,have not seen the tv go out cos i am watching an action movie.watching the mayor of NY speech and its doing the same thingLeave a comment:

Stumbled across this forum while trying to figure out what happened to my tv
Story so far:
Bought TV on ebay(never ever do that again)and luckily i also bought 2 yrs warranty on it.tested tv for about a week and it was working fine,put tv up cos i was moving so tv was not in use for about 2 months before i moved.got to new apartment,set tv up and it was working fine for 2 days then the trouble started.1st the screen would freeze and then i will have to turn it off and on before it works again.then screen starts to go blank although i can still hear the volume perfect.
contacted vizio since i could not find anyone to fix it and they decided to give me the run around so i contacted BBB who in turn contacted vizio and then vizio contacted me apologising and stuff and said since i was out of warranty,i have to pay for repairs,i said ok and vizio refered me to ITI who i ended up paying $255 to so they can come out and fix it
they came in like 3 days ago,replaced a panel on it and it came on and stayed on till they left and as soon as they left,tv froze again though i can still hear the volume and now screen goes blank every once in a while but it still does it.i have contacted ITI and vizio again but i have the very belief that they are both speaking out of their (u know what)

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi.
picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED... -

Failure Symptom
No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.
Where is the short?
Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.
