Perhaps it has shorted out, when you said the light was blinking, then the next time you turned it on, it might have made a voltage regulator blowup or something like that.

I have identified the source of the clicking:

Why exactly does it short out?

It looks like it would be possible to fix, if its the connector itself.

I would bet its one of the switching supplies on the board at the top, with the small heatsinks and small yellow transformers.

Yes it is an LCD. The output from the PSU appears pretty constant. I don't think that any of the connectors could have become loose, as the TV sat on the cabinet all this time. The one thing that is kind of inconsistent is the clicking noise. When I plug it in, there is a click. When I press power, there are 2 clicks, when I press it again, there is one more click, and when I unplug it, there is a click. This clicking never happened when the TV was working. I would have heard it as the clicking is very loud.

    LOL!

Well, nobody ever mentioned if it was a plasma or a LCD, so I just guessed plasma by the age/size of it.

What would the sustain board look like?

Also, my neighbor repairs appliances, unfortunately not TVs, but he just came home for lunch, and I asked him if had a multimeter. Luckily he did, and he offered to test the caps for me. He tested all the caps on those 2 boards, and he said they are all working fine, so I will take his word for it.
Ok, try measuring the voltage on the really big capacitor in the power supply. It should be about 300v DC, if its only about 160v, press the power button and see if it goes up to 300v before it goes into protection mode.

Ok, sorry. I am currently trying to take some pictures with my better camera. It is difficulty to get the whole the board in 1 picture and not lose detail. Hold on.

The above picture is not the power board. It is the "Sub Power" board. The board we need to see is to the right of this one, is green and mounted vertically. It is the tall board just to the left of the DVD deck. (When viewing from the back of the TV)

Pictures are a little too grainy for troubleshooting - we need to be able to read
the writing on the board. Not sure what this board is? more like power distribution - can you do the one with the mains connector on it.

you will need a multimeter,no sign of visualy bad caps, check you have standby voltage with tv just plugged in,then check the on/off signal goes high when switched on by remote/side buttons, could do with nice sharp pic of the all the connectors to see what the legends say, hard to tell from that picture

Strange! Acer laptop not powering on but charging the battery (orange light on when charger and battery plugged in).
    by serious_electron
    Hello Everyone!

I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died.
