Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
Perhaps it has shorted out, when you said the light was blinking, then the next time you turned it on, it might have made a voltage regulator blowup or something like that.

The PJ63 problem from my research was most always accompanied by a blinking red light. For me, the red light does not even come on.Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
It looks like it would be possible to fix, if its the connector itself.Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
Are you guys just forgetting the shorted PJ63 problem - mentioned earlier - there are a number of threads regarding this issue- the seine board is quite expensive to replace (if you can find one) and for a 7 year old set may not be economically viable.Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
Yes it is an LCD. The output from the PSU appears pretty constant. I don't think that any of the connectors could have become loose, as the TV sat on the cabinet all this time. The one thing that is kind of inconsistent is the clicking noise. When I plug it in, there is a click. When I press power, there are 2 clicks, when I press it again, there is one more click, and when I unplug it, there is a click. This clicking never happened when the TV was working. I would have heard it as the clicking is very loud.Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
There are no sustain boards in an LCD TV. That is plasma only. I think it is more likely there is some shutdown mechanism that is activating. Your best bet would be to test the power supply outputs; there might be one that is out of spec. Also visually inspect all connectors, reseat them well. Try without the DVD player too.
Well, nobody ever mentioned if it was a plasma or a LCD, so I just guessed plasma by the age/size of it.Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
Seems like it shuts down due to overcurrent, I bet one of the sustain boards is shorted. Is there any cables that feed power directly to the sustain boards from the PSU?Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
Ok, he said it started around 150, when the power was pressed jumped to around 290, then 140, then 150 again. Still no screen and no light.Leave a comment:

Here are some high-quality images.

Also, my neighbor repairs appliances, unfortunately not TVs, but he just came home for lunch, and I asked him if had a multimeter. Luckily he did, and he offered to test the caps for me. He tested all the caps on those 2 boards, and he said they are all working fine, so I will take his word for it.Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
The above picture is not the power board. It is the "Sub Power" board. The board we need to see is to the right of this one, is green and mounted vertically. It is the tall board just to the left of the DVD deck. (When viewing from the back of the TV)Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
Pictures are a little too grainy for troubleshooting - we need to be able to read
the writing on the board. Not sure what this board is? more like power distribution - can you do the one with the mains connector on it.Leave a comment:

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?
you will need a multimeter,no sign of visualy bad caps, check you have standby voltage with tv just plugged in,then check the on/off signal goes high when switched on by remote/side buttons, could do with nice sharp pic of the all the connectors to see what the legends say, hard to tell from that pictureLeave a comment:

Hello Everyone!
I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died....06-28-2025, 02:57 PM -
