although i dont think its a firmware issue
No firmware on Samsung's website. I'm not certain what the issue is either.

I have noticed before it shuts down a lot of data gets read/written to the EEPROM. So it seems more like a controlled shutdown.

is that by scoping the eeprom?,or on screen?if scope that would be interesting to see, never even thought of how the read/write would look on a scope, hmm!
fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

EEPROM. SDA line, you can see it do a lot of stuff. Hard to film, I'll see what I can do...

samsungs are quite good quality, but they are a pig to fix,i cringe sometimes when i get one, especially if there are main board issues,.

samsung like to keep things close to the there chest, had a dig around the net, there is a couple of people trying to just get the main board and havent succeded, and this is going back to november2011.

the closest thing i could find relating to your problem, was that they disconnected the panel,i assume from the t-con,booted up the tv,and it seemed to re-write the eeprom, and it worked for a while, then went back to normal

Okay, forced the B/L on. Now this is interesting. I get a full frame of analogue snow, but then it fades to black (T-con power cut.) After it warms up, I sometimes get no frame at all, or half/quarter frame. So, something is warming up and going out of spec, perhaps some reset IC or protection detect.

I already disconnected the T-con to no effect but I will try again.

Here's something interesting. Didn't notice this before, but SDA line flurries with activity just BEFORE the picture shows, not after. Picture goes out without any SDA activity...

Only reset IC is for sub-micom but it's okay, tested with scope.
