    Samsung PS50C430A1W messy picture

A friend's plamsa tv has ghostly greenish/redish picture and random black dots all over. The tv is 1.5 years old. The issue came up about 1 month after the warranty has expired...
A transparent, blurry pattern of the menu and previous channels remain on the screen when changing channels then fades after a while. We haven't taken it apart yet. Is there way to fix this or just give it to a samsung service place?

My bet would be Z-sustain. Repaired a similar fault with a PS42B450.

Thanks Tom! Should I get a new board or is it fixable?

I got a used but working board for £15 so I just replaced mine.

          I guess it's worth a try then.

If it helps you find a part, the Z-sustain and X-main names mean the same thing. The Z-sustain is the board on the righthand side, looking from the back. The Y-sustain is the opposite board, it connects through buffers to the panel.

              Re: Samsung PS50C430A1W messy picture

We decided to fix the tv. Haven't managed to find a replacement X-main-z-sustain pcb yet. I removed the pcb to check it out. It had some cold solder joints at the legs of transistors but nothing looked damaged. Resoldered and put it back but nothnig has changed. Picture is still unwatchable.
The original x-main has the model number: 50V(F)2F LJ41-084557A

Once again, the problem is: The picture has blue, black and red jumping pixels, large transparent black spots. The screen is bright in the lower left corner.
I hope getting another x-main will fix it.

                Is this your part? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PS42C430-S...d#ht_633wt_891

I believe the 42" and 50" use the same X-main but I may be wrong.

                  We have this one:
                  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAMSUNG-50...item35b9671c9b
                  plus the buffer

Those missing cap and transistor spaces looked so strange at first glance.

                    Re: Samsung PS50C430A1W messy picture

Replacing the z sustain board made the picture clearer, more watchable but still with lots of red and purple dots all over. So we carefully adjusted a few trimmer-pots which sort of fixed it for now. I say it's good enough but friend decided to ditch the tv and swore to never buy Samsung again

Samsung plasmas suck, but I hope he at least sold it, not just threw it out.

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                        by TR103
                        Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                        - sound and backlight, but no picture
                        - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                        - it keeps rebooting
                        - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                        - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
                        by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                        Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                        by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

                        Hello all,

This is my first post, but long term lurker on the form learning as much as possible about these TV's. I was given this TV as due to a power outage of constant On/off of power to TV. The TV originally would just click on and off (Typical Reboot Cycle). I opened the back of the TV, and troubleshooted by taking the 96 pin LVDS off one at a time to see if I had a picture on either side. I finally fixed the reboot cycle by finding the error on the left side of the screen off connector CN 1301, and the TV would stay on. Further troubleshooting led me to the driver boards where...
