    Re: Toshiba 30HF84

ok i went online and looked up how to test these transistors with my meter and the HOT tested fine so thats not it, however i tested Q504 which im not sure what it is yet, but anyway i tested one leg and got a reading and then i tested the other and didnt get anything at all, im thinking whatever Q504 is, its bad and needs to be replaced, now i just need to find a diagram and find out what it is

        Re: Toshiba 30HF84

Q504 is a fet in the power supply, its not bad, if it was the tv would not come on at all. You either have a weak capacitor in the power supply or in the deflection circuit.

If you type that toshiba part number into google you will get the original number of the fet. now search for the original number and find a source. I found it at digikey and others.

solder joints are fine, but here is the part from the service manual and the part number from the part itself

you mean replace it with a new one or just resolder the solder joints?
