    Re: Sharp Aquos

sorry what I mean is I got the power LED to go on and stay on, instead of just clicking and going back into the power and opc flashing twice pattern. But no I got nothing other then the power LED going on and staying on, no light, and not able to use any input, connection, or even see any menus or turn volume up or down.

Not sure what you mean by " got the tv to turn on"? do you mean you had sound? what did the leds do?

What would be useful is if you can connect up a continous known source like a dvd and then "get the tv to turn on" report if the sound is ok and if you can see a very dark picture on the screen perhaps lookng very close up and using a flashlight. Can you adjust the volume in that state or change channels?

    Re: Sharp Aquos

The problem is when I plug it in, I get the POWER and the OPC lights flash twice and then nothing, and then the same thing keeps on happening. If I try to power the tv on, it clicks on then goes off with another click. (BTW I don't know what I did but by general cleaning of the insides I managed to get the time between the two clicks to be longer, that lasted for 5 min however. It might be just the cool weather that hit it lol.)

lol, I'll read through the manual thx.

I am not clear on your description of the error code being displayed. To make it simple, just count the blinks for each LED individually, ignoring the others. Each one represents a number. For example, 2 blinks (on) then a pause (LED OFF). So, just tell us the number of blinks for each LED.

If it is POWER LED 2, OPC LED 5, that would represent a Panel 5 volt failure.

Yes, I think you can probably fix the TV.

    Sharp Aquos

    Hi,

I have a SHARP AQUOS TV, Model Number: LC-37D62U, which I purchased a few years ago. It is now no longer turning on.

It clicks on, but then goes into a pattern of : (x=off) (0=on)

    ----(0) 2x---------(x)------------(0) 2x----
    (Power) (Sleep) (OPC)

Over and over, I have researched this problem but for nearly all others the power led powers on again, since this is not the case for me, do you think I can fix it without having to get a new power or main (or other) board?

I have searched and tried all the things I can do without opening it up and none worked. Called SHARP (and their affiliated repair shop) and they told me the pattern I have described requires service so basically it can't be fixed without opening it up, and they say it will probably cost a few hundred bucks.

I couldn't find anything online about being able to repair it myself, I have never fixed a tv (hardware wise) before but I have done a few pcs, laptops and 2 ps3. Do you guys think I can do this? Or a TV is a whole different type of thing to try and fix yourself?

    Thank You.
