2005 RCA 27F522T keeps shutting off when cold

I think it's got bad caps! FOCK!

    And that's even when it's a CRT!

And it has too much red when working!

Hey folks, the problem looks like this one!

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWIeaj3CPIY

Except I see blotches, looks like it tries to start and fails, like when there's a brownout!

Mine acts like there's less than 105V on the line!

      I don't believe there's a horizontal line on mine.

The one on YouTube looks slightly different. It looks like the firmware is shutting it down because it senses a problem, which definitely looks like it could be bad caps.

Mine looks more like a protection circuit is kicking in.

Probably X-ray protection, I've heard that tinted colours can be a symptom. I can get a used 24" CRT for about £5 nowadays... They are just not worth fixing in my opinion. No one wants them any more.

BTW, it don't appear to have a cracked screen. And 99 percent would be from dropping it on the floor.

A CRT with a cracked screen is a dead CRT, you will get absolutely no picture!

These RCA TVs are very critical on the setting of the screen control on the flyback, and will shut down if incorrect. You may be able to fix the problem just by adjusting that. Make VERY SMALL adjustments, and then test.after each small adjustment.

Acer Helios 500 (PH517-51) - unexpected reboots when laptop is warm (cold solder joint issue?)
                      by Mirenia
                      Hi everyone,

got an Acer Helios 500 Laptop (PH517-51) for diagnosing with a strange issue:

The laptop runs for a while (1-2 hours, sometimes less) and then suddenly shuts completely off, like someone pulled the power cord and restarts immediately after on its own.
If this happened once, then the laptop only runs for a few minutes until restart.
This happens regardless while staying in windows or uefi or in a linux environment.

At first I thought of a normal overheating issue, but as I monitored temps with HWInfo64, nothing seems very hot.

Asus ROG GL553V shutting down before Windows
                      by szepesif
                      Hey guys!

This is the third laptop here with this exact same issue and the forum threads and YouTube comments are also filled with this problem so I would like to figure out once and for all what's causing it and how to fix it because this model will keep coming to me to repair.

Symptom: The laptop turns on and works fine UNTIL the Windows starts loading, then it shuts down. I can start it again but the same thing happens over and over again so I can't get into Windows. BUT I can enter the BIOS and it stays there forever without shutting down. The same applies if I remove...

                      Carvin PA620 shutting down
                      by Camarada78
I have a Carvin PA620 powered mixer with a weird problem: channel one shuts down the entire speaker output when plugged in. Its not a short because it still outputs sound through the line outs.

                      1. voltages are somewhat correct (-42/+42, -26, -17/+17, when it should be +-43, -24, +-18).
                      2. Channel 2 if plugged works normally, no issues, any volume.
                      3. Channel 1 if plugged very low volume, works normally. if goes a little louder, it shuts down everything (both speaker channels)
                      4. line out works normally in any situation, even after shutting down the speakers.
                      ...

QNAP TS-469L NAS shutting down randomly
                      by spleenharvester
I bought this NAS as "turns on then straight back off again". When I received it it had no trouble staying on, just the RAM stick was in the wrong slot so it wouldn't POST. I was hoping that was all that was wrong with it, but it's now started randomly shutting off once a week. When I find it off it will fire straight back up again if I hit power, no need to power cycle. Nothing ever in the logs aside from "the last shutdown was unsafe".

It's got an internal PSU, an FSP250-50LC (which is wildly overkill for the hardware really). The electrolytic caps in the PSU...
