    dmtech LCD tv wt20xt switch's off randomly

    Could this be bad caps only no bulging but all caps are Sam young?

    Is this a bad make?

    im sure i read some where that these were a bad brand, ive checked bad cap page but cant see them listed

    posted picture of board for you all

    bottom left hand corner is where the power comes in.....its 24v supply from a mains adapter

      Samyoung are iffy - I've not seen any fail but they don't have a good reputation. They are a Chemicon subsidiary.

        ive ordered some anyway, because its so random its hard to test so just gonna replace the big ones near where the power comes in and see if that cures it, if not suppose it could be an invertor fault if when its getting warm its failing, but not really gave it a good test, so will change caps and retest for a couple of hours and see what happens

          replaced most of the big caps then tried it, didnt turn on, so carried on replacing all the caps like 10uf 16v etc on left hand side and im testing it as i write, it hasnt switched off yet and it powered up ok now so fingers crossed ive sorted it
