Why don't you see if you can get this one nice and cheap! He has listed it twice. I would have it if I lived closer.

I haven't yet fixed a Pioneer or a Sony. Both I am looking out for. I also want a Panasonic LCD - after fixing a Panasonic plasma as I've seen how well they are built.

    Pioneer VSX-44 receiver HDMI dropouts
    by RatherLoopy
I have an older Pioneer receiver (VSX-44) that's been dropping the HDMI output (black screen) for a few seconds every few minutes. Setup is HTPC -> Pioneer DVD HCMI in -> Pioneer HDMI out -> Samsung TV HDMI in, all with cheap HDMI cables that have never caused trouble before..

I initially found a lot of play in the receiver's HDMI inputs and output so I kind of squeezed them back into shape and they're making a tighter connection, but the problem persists.

And also, often, the HDMI will drop out in exactly the same way (black screen) just as my central air...

Pioneer Plasma 111FD To Solder or Not to Solder.
    by pixelcap
Hello out there in Badcap land.

I have a Pioneer plasma that gave me the dreaded 8 red blink and shutdown, I have been trying to trace the failure points. On my last inspection while replacing a Y Sustain Board I noticed on the original and replacement board some missing solder, the points of connection
are from the Digital Address Board and the Buffer Boards. I have included the pictures, should I resolder these points or are they unsoldered intentionally? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Pioneer VSX-1123 Receiver - weird voltage problem
    by pulper111
Hello. My receiver "seems" to be working fine. It functions as it should. the receiver is the Pioneer vsx-1123. However, while doing some work in the house, I noticed that my HDMI cable from the receiver was registering as "hot" using my fluke non-contact voltage tester.

I've done some troubleshooting to try to narrow down the problem, and all wires (speaker/hdmi/subwoofer) coming from the receiver, whether it's powered on or stand-by, register as "hot". none of my other receivers are experiencing this issue, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with...

Pioneer VSX-3300 Receiver Wont Power On
    by thetonywarren
Have a colleagues Pioneer VSX-3300, it wont power on, hasnt for a number of years, but just now trying to figure out what's going on with it.

It has 120V input and I have followed that 120V to a small board that appears to have a small transformer and a relay among a few other components I dont think the relay is changing state which I believe turns on the receiver, but this is all speculation.....

I have downloaded the repair guide, which I have attached to this post, but I am having a hard time following it.... Can someone please offer any advice on what to check?...
