    Hitachi CP-X430W no power

    Hi guys, I decided to come back a year later and ask for help Last year you helped me fix my lcd monitor. It works till this day. Thank you again to everyone who helped. Now I have a projector problem. I hope someone can help me.

    I have an old Hitachi projector. It ran really well until few weeks ago. It started losing power. Even the LED lights would not light up. After flipping the projector upside down few times, the LED light would come back on and I could power up the projector. Now the projector is completely dead. Nothing comes on when it plug it in.

    I am not that great with electronics, however the people of this forum were very patient with me and provided great directions. I hope you have some ideas for me regarding the problem I described above.


    I also have Dell 2300mp projector that was dropped while it was cooling down after I shut it down. When I picked it up and tried turning it on, the lamp and temp indicator lights turn on orange, fan starts spinning and nothing else happens. Any ideas what could be wrong?

              The obvious guess for the Dell unit is the bulb was shattered when you dropped the projector. Mercury arc lamps require a very low pressure vacuum to operate.

              The Hitachi sounds like a cold joint or bad capacitor(s).

                                  3000x3000 is the max size, and each different filetype (.jpg, .png, etc.) have different max. size limits, so make sure you're not exceeding those !

                                      thank you! I tried compressing the pix. They might be too small though. Let me know if they are bad and I will try to take better ones.

                                          I found out that the fuse on the power supply board went bad. Then I took small, thin copper wire and put it across the fuse holders. When I did that, I tested the voltage at the connector that goes to the lamp and it read 160V. With the fuse in place there was no voltage.

                                          The specs on the fuse are 6.3A and 250V. I wanted to buy it at radioshack, but they do not have that specific fuse. I was wondering if it is ok to use 5A fuse in place of 6.3A.

                                          I am not knowledgeable in electronics stuff, so I apologize if my questions do not make sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

                                              You can use that value, but it may blow more frequently than a 6.3A fuse. If you're happy to do this, then use a 5A fuse. Might as well see if it powers up, then get a new fuse from DigiKey or somewhere similar.

                                                  I had an old hitachi projector with no bulb in it. So I decided to check the specs on the fuse and it was 5A. I put it into the CP-X430W and the projector is working now. Thank you for your help!!

                                                  Now I need to figure out how to fix the dell projector.

                                                      I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                                      Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                                      I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                                      The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                                      With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                                      Hi all!

                                                      I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

                                                      I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

                                                      One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
