Magnavox/Phillips 37" LCD Brightness going nuts.

A friend of mine had this TV for about 4-5 years and started getting this bright/dark thing going on. Made it impossible to watch. Opened it up and found 2 bad caps on power board. Replaced them but problem actually got worse, as in not starting at all.

The caps I replaced were still working but it was the 2200uf cap in the back of the picture that was the problem. Replaced and is working just dandy. I hope this helps some, keep up the good fight and thanks for such a valuable resource.

Great to hear you fixed it. "Elite" capacitors fail again, and it looks like only two of the three that failed bulged.

HP Pavilion 15-1812nd scrren brightness issues
      by dr.thodt
I have a notebook, HP Pavilion 15-1812ND with brichtness issues.
When in windows, I use the the brightness keys on the keyboard, brightness goes up aprox (75%) then the screen begins to flicker and gets darker again.
When I lower the brightness again it's getting brighter first and then it dims and the flickerings gets less.

I already chaned the screen and LVDS Cable.

Does anyone ever seen this problem and maybe have an idea how to fix this.
      Any help would be apprecited.

      Thank you

HELP - Contrast/brightness issue with subtitles on screen
      by cloudy
      Hi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.

Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.

It occours both on ubuntu and windows...

Panasonic 55DX600u second fault - panel brightness pulsing on right side
      by fixxy88
After getting the backlights up and running a second fault has emerged on this TV. I was going accept defeat and move on but thought I'd have a quick look at it in case it was something simple. The right side of the display exhibits a panel brightness (not backlight brightness) pulse every 2-3 seconds in a stable timing.

I poked about on the TCON test points and found one voltage that is fluctuating in the same pattern. VGH-ODD (Pin 47 of U10) is sitting at ~-6.5v then goes up to ~28v when the brightness pulses then goes back down to ~-6.5v again in a repeating pattern.
