Toshiba 40RF350U LCD - Vertical Colored Lines

I've researched the "vertical colored lines" problem with this Toshiba LCD, and based on everything I've read it seems to be related to bad ribbon cable connections from the LCD panel to the PCB. It seems like a really common problem with this particular model.

But I'd appreciate some input on this since there are actually two things going on with it. When the tv is first powered on, there are vertical colored lines in the center and on the right side of the screen (see first pic). Then, after about 20 mins or so, the center vertical lines disappear (see second pic). As you can see in the second pic, the far left side is lighter than the rest of the screen for some reason. And the right side vertical colored lines remain, and never go away no matter how long the tv is powered on.

Does this seem like both issues could be related to connection problems between the lcd ribbon cables and the pcb? Or could one issue be related to TCON problems, or other?

Also, in order to get at the LCD panel ribbon cables, it appears I need to remove the front plastic frame. Has anyone done this on this particular tv? I have searched high and low trying to see how to do this with no luck. And while I did find the service manual for this tv, I have been unable to view it because it is not in a normal PDF format (it uses the "Zeus" engine, which I have installed but continue to get errors when it tries to load the DWF viewer). I have tried 3 different web browsers with no luck.

Basically what I'd like to know is if there is a way to detach the front plastic frame without disassembling everything from the back of the tv (circuit boards, etc.). The reason is that from what I've read, I need to be able to press on the ribbon cable connections while the tv is running, to see specifically where the problems are and how to fix them.

Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Panel board resistors making a bad connection. Seen this before with this model.. repaired by adding a little flux and resolder. Found this out by using a pencil eraser in pushing on the offending resistors until I saw the picture straight out.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

          Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
          by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

LG 47LV5500-UA Vertical Colored Lines/Alignment Issue
          by Superluminal
Hi all, looking for some input on this one. I've been reading the forums for quite some time but this is my first time posting for help.

          LG 47LV5500-UA
          10 years old
          20,000+ hours on it.

Watching TV on it last week and right while I was watching the image suddenly started experiencing the symptoms in pics. Rainbow chromatic vertical lines and alignment issues. The issue is uniform across the entire panel. It does not come and go, the symptoms are stable.

Here is what I've tried so far:
          - Factory reset and cycle of picture options....
