Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
I am grateful for all the help so far. I think it is strange that the fuse and some capacitors blew and it works with a New fuse. Could it be that the fuse blew due to the capacitor breakdown and some problems with the power occured than. But now that I have changed the capacitors the power is normal but something else (maby bufferboard) broke along the way ?Comment

Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
Are there anyone else who have a suggestion about this?
another strange thing is I found the service manual with the exact some modelnumber but in that it says I have y-sus board "6871QYH053B" 42”HD 42X3 VER.B, but I have Y-sus board "6871QYH051P" 42X2. Does anyone have a diagram for that board?Comment

Here is how to test Y-SUS IPM.

Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
I have measured according to the site and I found 1 thing that might be wrong. On my IPM (not the one on the picture I have 4921QP1027Q) there is no "ERout" I have "ER_I0", "ER_LOW", "ER_HIGH", "ER_DN" and "ER_UP" I have short between "ER_I0" and "SUS_OUT" and that is of course because I have it on the board ( if "ER_I0" and "ERout" is the same?) but I have 293 ohm between "+VS" and "ER_I0" if I have black probe on "+VS" and red probe on "ER_I0" the other way around I have almost Infinite.
What to think?
Does anyone have the same card and can see if it is the same on that?Comment

Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
This may indicate a fault with the IPM. It certainly doesn't seem right.
I happen to have a 42PX5D, but I don't know if I'll be able to remove the board (as it's not really mine.)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Just a thought: if you tell me where the IPM pins that are shorted connect to on the top side, I can check those. Like a big capacitor or something. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
by the way, also test black probe on same fuse and red probe on ground and see what you get there.

Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
Ok nice, test black probe on fuse FS152 an red probe on one of the little (What are those) FL22 or any of those sitting to the right just below the big heatsink directly over the 2 capacitors C99 and C100.
by the way, also test black probe on same fuse and red probe on ground and see what you get there.
best regards
I have board "6871QYH051P"Comment

Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
Okay, I've got access to the TV today to fix the Y-sustain timings. Here's the read outs you requested (from a TV that works reasonably well):
Fuse to FL22: Around 7.5 meg-ohms
Fuse to GND: Around 5 meg-ohms
So it would seem your board has a problem if you are getting hundred ohm readouts. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

I have some solderskills so I think I will try to change it myself, I have read the post in other threads and I belive I will be able to fix it.Comment

Re: lg 42px5r no picture with sound
You did measure with the probes the way I discribed right ( black probe on fuse) ?

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by jchangHi all
I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.
Symptom:
No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
No sound at all.
What I tried:
1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon... -
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...-
