The panel model will be written on the back of the metal plate on the plasma panel.

However, it is generally considered uneconomical to replace a plasma display! They cost more than the TV is worth.

Thanks for the reply however I have seen panels on Ebay.co.uk
under 100 UK pounds and that will make it a cheap TV if I get the correct panel
Do you know what the panel number starts with as there are a lot of numbers on the back
        Thanks

Usually "PDP" for LG. e.g. PDP50X3 for an older generation. Don't know about the newer ones. Other LG electronics/parts usually use "EAX" as part code.

Installing a 50" plasma panel is not easy! They are very fragile/breakable...

Re: LG 50PG3000-ZA help needed please.

Hi there, i have the same problem. 2 days before christmas my lg 50pg3000 screen went black. so i got a new telly and have not dragged this down to my workshop.

i removed back and located the two buffer boards.

removed bottom board, still nothing, and i removed the top board and half the screen has come on. (bottom half) this was black but eventually got a few lines in it.

i powered off and ordered a part for it, however it was not the exact same part number

                the origina part is this

                board 50g1a_ydt
                part number eax50050802

the closet part number i could find was this

                board 50g1a_ydt
                EAX50051102

the boards look the same etc etc and when i googled my part number i found a couple of sites that sold them that listed my original part number and the part number i purchased together in the same listings etc etc like they where compatible parts.

                so

                my question is this.

have i got a dodgy top buffer board, or is it because of the part numbers not being exactly the same, even though the board is from the same model telly.

the part i bought i can return and get moeny back as it has been scavenged from a broken telly, usually with a smashed screen.

like i say the screen now lights up, i can see menu etc etc but i do have a black bar across the top which eventually gets lots of lines in it.

                photo

the bottom white block is the no signal animation it is mirrored along the top edge of the black bar

anyone any ideas? do i need to get a new buffer , can i use similar part numebrs as long as it comes from the same telly? etc etc what would you advise

P.S. i have cleaned all contacts to both buffer boards also with fibre glass pen and contact cleaner...

Re: LG 50PG3000-ZA help needed please.

Sorry for bringing up and old post. Basically I have a lg50pg3000 with why was suspected as a dodgy top buffer. (Symptoms similar to last pic) no being an idiot I thought I'd have a press about befor paying £65 for new board. Now I have no picture but have sound. If I remove the top buffer the bottom half comes on. I'd this still just a case of replacing the top buffer or have I doe further damage. Any help would be great.

Go back to your original top buffer; does the same fault occur?

                        Hello,

I purchased my 50pg300-ZA plasma when I was stationed in Germany (I now live in the US). When I called tech support they told me that my tv didn't exist...

I have replaced two bad caps (one bulged,, one leaking) and still have the same problem.

                        Problem:
White / grey screen with a box that shifts across the top of the screen that says v 3.03.0 . I can get to the service menus using the remote / tv button hold combo but cannot scroll / move after getting there. The front LED blinks to show that it is receiving the RC signal but... nothing. I can also see 1 (sometimes 2) green leds on the control board and all heat sinks get warm when tv is on.

I can also get a source menu to pop up and when attached to cable tv i get a garbled picture as if I am on the wrong channel but cannot change it.

The tv turns on automatically when plugged into power and can only be turned off by unplugging it.

I do not know if it is coincidental or not but this started to happen when I pushed an erroneous button on a universal remote. (I have since tried EVERY button on that same remote to no avail)

Hopefully this is enough info to help get me pointed in the right direction...

Thank you in advance for any help that you can give.

                          Update/corrections:
                          I have a 50pg3000-ZA
                          It says V3.03.1
The control LED's have changed. Yesterday it was the middle and/or the left, now it is the middle or right.
I tried to make a RS232 cable and send ASCII code but that didn't work either.
*Note that the horizontal lines are frequency lines due to the camera.

Is this info too vague? Would you recommend voltage checks? All fuses have been checked (including the smd's that I could find).

Is the fault that the screen is in inverse? Have you tried changing ISM Method in user menu from INVERSE to NORMAL? Also, can you post a picture of the control/logic board?

The fault is that these are the only screens I can get. I cannot change anything. When I push buttons on either the TV or the remote the green light on the TV will blink to show it is receiving a signal (every button except the power button) but nothing changes. I will open it back up and get pics of all the boards today.

Ctrl board 1.5 minutes after power-up . After 35-40 . After 1 hour 10 min . I left it on for an additional hour and the led's didn't change.

Checked: Va, Vs, -Vy, VSC and Zbias. Required a little bit of tweaking but all are within +- .1

I do not own an o-scope so I cannot look at or adjust the wave forms...

                                          Still no change...

Hello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
                                            The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping...

Samsung UE46ES8000 Blown fuse but no other signs of short
                                            by jesterace
Hi I wonder if anyone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have this Samsung UE46ES8000 TV and it went bang during use. The main fuse on the PSU board is open. I've checked every diode/mosfet/transistor I can see and nothing appears to be short to cause the fuse to go. The DC output of the bridge rectifier is not short either. I've seen online that some of these models are known for having their PFC mosfet or other mosfets shorting and blowing the fuse but i'm not seeing that here. If anyone aware of these models having any issues to cause this? I'm reluctant to just replace the...

Help replacing fuse on my Mimaki CJV300-160 vinyl printer
                                            by jshhh
                                            Hi guys,

I'm inexperienced with electronics repairs, I've done a little bit of soldering caps and whatnot, but i have a blown fuse on this mimaki printer I got which I have bought a replacement for.

How do I remove this type of fuse (see picture)...it kinda looks like it would pull out of that bracket but it didn't come at first pull and I didn't want to brute force it incase it's soldered on there like most of the rest of the components.

Anybody know how to remove this type of fuse?

(The fuse is toward the bottom of the image labeled F2)...

Argon SA1 audio amplifier power-supply - fuse blown after fixing the short?
                                            by Babbar
I found a project in the electronics trash yesterday. A nice Argon SA1 audio amp with some electrical issue. Took it apart and saw that the 4A250V fuse was blown so started lifting components to find the short. Eventually got to two MOSFETs (model FTA14N50C) that are shorted and when i took them out the short was gone.

Now i didn't have any replacements of the same model of course but i found a couple with pretty similar spec i thought (K10A60D & K12A50D) and put them in. Also replaced the blown fuse with a 3.5A250V one. Checked another time for short circuit and plugged it in....

                                            Matsui 175S microwave fuse replacement
                                            by drykid
                                            Hi,

I recently picked up a used Matsui 175S microwave that was powering up (starts, turntable rotates) but not heating. From looking online the most likely culprit was the fuse, but unfortunately in this one the fuse had heated up and fused with the (badly designed) fuse holder and couldn't be removed. I guess this might indicate further issues beyond the fuse itself but at this stage I just want to replace the fuse and see how I go from there.

Anyway since I couldn't get out the fuse itself the easiest fix was to replace the fuse holder assembly that runs between the...
