Viore 42" plasma pdp4210ea / lg panel sustain issues

HI GUYS!! Its been awhile. Times have been tough, i havent had any money or time to tinker lately..

just got this viore tv. Its a 42" plasma. The panel is a lg, its a pdp-42v69001 panel.

It powers on and works, but the picture is dim, possible oil slicking, screen has bluish splotches and the picture is shimmery/sparkely..

This almost always indicates a sustain board issue, which one should i be focusing on? I have yet to fully tear it apart but i will and do all my tests for proper voltage, fuses, caps, etc but figured is open up a post and see if mabye one of you have had a simular experience with this panel.

I would check the Z-sustain. There are usually fuses on it. Also check for a properly seated power supply. Is the screen purple tinted, slow to update and when first turned on does it almost appear like a lava lamp taking about 5 seconds before a picture appears?

takes about 30-45 secs for enough of a picture to appear to know whats going on. WHen first powered on it really looked like a oil slick/lava lamp type situation and gets better but kind of remains as a bluish purplish splotches..

WIll get it town down as soon as i can and do some testing, as well as some good pictures.

vs/va/5v check good. Ive got a blown fuse on the z-sustain and also an almost blown 250v/47uf cap at c5 ont he zsus.

        the zsus has a part# of 6870qze013c
        and shows a model# of 46v6

This seems familiar, i might have a good board in stock lol

Replace the fuse; if it blows again or TV doesn't start, replace or repair the Z-sus. The Z-sus fuse can sometimes, in my experience, blow randomly.

really? ive always had sustain board hybrid or small ic failure cause a blown fuse, but i guess it wouldnt hurt to try the cap, fuse, and recheck..

I had a 42V6 panel with a blown fuse on Z-sustain and a new fuse fixed the problem. Same symptoms as you describe although was a little faster. Speed probably depends on panel age...

It just so happens i have a couple other repair filure sets with the same board.

I installed a z-sutain i repaired with a good used hybrid, and this set works perfect with it. It came form a set i was trying to fix and gave up on. APparently my zsustain board repair was good lol because it works great with this set.

if i can find my camera i will get some pics before i put ti all back togther..

edit: bummer. green sparkles of death... like all these other 42pc3d sets, works, but sparkles..

Did you try the fuse, anyway? Just for laughs? Then you could sell a Z-sus board as working...

I've got a VIORE PDP42v18ha, and has similar symptoms. At start up, it is bright, as usual. then after 30 seconds the picture gets very dim, and has a sort of lava lamp effect in the picture. At that time. it is able to be viewed, if the lights are out. Every time I turn the set off, it comes back on as normal, but repeats the process. Once in awhile, it will clear up while watching it.
Please, help guide me to the correct repair part/procedure.

I recently found myself the proud owner of a later-model Samsung plasma (the PN59D7000 for those keeping score at home) whose panel was, unfortunately, damaged in transport. I'm now preparing to part it out, but am curious as to whether or not any damage would have come to any of the components by attempting to power it up with the panel being broken. I read in one Avsforum thread (for whatever that's worth 😂) that the "scan driver boards" (by which I assume he means buffer boards) could be impacted by doing so. Is that actually the case? If so, since I don't intend on selling bad...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                            by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

LG 49UJ6500 LCD panel lighter band that goes away
                            by howardc64
49UJ6500 LCD panel has a lighter band on top when first powered on. Goes away (or gets much fainter) after TV on for a few min. After powered off for awhile and power back on, same band appears. If powered on immediately after powering off, no or much fainter band. Running the latest firmware.

Disassembled the TV and lifted the LCD panel during testing. Band is on the LCD panel (can see the band on the panel as I lift it slightly) Backlight is perfectly even at the top edge. Double checked LCD panel alignment in the frame and is perfect but since band moved with the panel, its on...

SAMSUNG UN50TU8000F rebooting, backlight ok. No 12v to panel boards.
                            by triplefour
TV flashes backlight then reboots over and over. no image. Client said it used to have image for a bit before rebooting. Got worse over time.

                            tcon is built into mainboard.
Only one cable goes to panel boards.
there is a cable from one panel board to the other that links them.
cost cutting measure that results in us having harder time to diagnose.
removing the link to the second panel board allows TV to stay on with stable backlight but no image.
used cut off tape method to mask 1 maybe 2 pins on the side of the cable that goes to that second panel board....

                            by Storyteller12
I had a the above tv qn55q60r that had a bad panel but everything else good. I had another panel here from un55nu6900 with bad leds and melted diffusers.

I put the nu6900 panel in and powered it up and it does work but there are lines vertical lines.

I was trying to change the panel type in the service menu but don’t see my exact panel. Anyway to fix this or someone have similar experience.

the clear picture is the panel type from the service menus on the nu6900. The other 1 is the panel type that was set for the q60r with the bad panel....
