Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
Most likely. It is rare for a main board to fail to output video but give audio, it can happen but it is rare.

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
I have got some news.. after little play with remote control that friend bring me today i have sound working from external scart dvd player. So the problem really will be display or T-con isnt it?
Still have color lines on half display but sound works ok.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
I was hoping to be able to see the differential pairs but it looks like they are not easily visible on the main board. Can we get a picture of the T-con then?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
Can I see a closer up shot around the connector which goes from the main board to the T-con - the LVDS cable.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
You would need an oscilloscope to do that.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
so how can I test if t-con has good signals from motherboardLeave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
You may be looking at T-con or panel fault then; perhaps the input selector doesn't work as you expect or the sound is muted. I've had that happen to me before.Leave a comment:

I tried power up TV firstly in my cool room.. around 12°C and nothing changed... Still half screen black, half screen colored vertical lines.Leave a comment:

Perhaps freeze spray then?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
heh yeah I tried that... even heat whole board on my BGA machine nothing changedLeave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
Try using a hairdryer or other focused heat source on the main board. If you find something that works when heated, there is probably a problem there.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
my friend bring it to me... tv was freezing and sometimes suddenly go blackscreen etc.. he said that he replaced that 16V 1000uF cap (as was said here) that was bulging and then he said that TV was working fain... he let it play around 2 houres and then he said that was blackscreen again....
so he bring it to me I plug it power up and it show only that lines as i take photo... nothing else since that... so I found that +3,4V is low around +2,4V so I though that is the problem.... so I ordered new controller for that two mosfets...
But I want to try it before replacement will come so I injected +3,4V externally and nothing changed still only lines.. freezed and no soundLeave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
The processor could be bad, or there could be a bad capacitor causing too much ripple in a certain area. Have you ever managed to get TV to work, perhaps intermittently, or did it fail suddenly?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
Ok so what could be bad on motherboard.. I already checked all voltage regulators and do to numbers on it there is all voltage outputs ok.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
I think that if fault will be on T-con TV should work ok like sound, channel choosing, scart input etc??Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
In which case, it would be a good idea to look at the t-con board next. Can we get a picture of that? The fault is most likely on the t-con or main board.Leave a comment:

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
As I said ALL voltages ok.. 19-18,9V 12-11,9V all just fain really.Leave a comment:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
by sam_sam_samI have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails
I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time... -
by JimBanvilleThe sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...-

by Gust zhangI have a 15 - inch Retina MacBook Pro from the mid - 2014 model. Here is the link: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=820-3662 . The battery broke some time ago. After I removed the battery and plugged in the original power adapter, the MBP could boot up normally. However, when I checked with IntelPowerGadget, I found that the CPU speed was limited to 0.8 GHz, and it ran very slowly. Later, I found a solution on GitHub. There is an open - source project called cputune that can set the CPU running speed. So I can now run the MBP at full speed. But another problem...
