Hi everyone
just finished fixing a dead philips 37" 37PFL5332D LCD tv that took a power surge, just some caps on the power supply board and a fuse and both main caps on the inverter board, but as I was searching for parts on ebay i saw an ad the said an 820 uF cap could be used in place of the 670 uF ones that were blown, so i did that and it works fine, but i hear a sound from the inverters that is almost like how high tension lines sound, only less power going through but that same kind of sound. I never heard the tv before it blew so maybe this is normal, it is not overly loud, just very quite in the basement where i was working and I haven't hooked up the satelitte to it yet but I get full function ; menu's etc. What effect does the increased cap value have on the inverter board?could i go even higher value than 820 from the original 670? just wondering as I have some brand new samxon caps that are 1000's and wondered if i used them the power sound might diminish a bit.
Here is a pic, sorry about resolution, digital camera is next on the fix list, the 2 big brown caps are the replacements and are 820's replacing the 670's, the auto fuse is temporary until my fuses arrive
Thanks
