Hey everyone,
I am electronics technician at a college in upstate ny. An Elec Tech club member, who is also part of the Student Government Association (SGA), has brought in a Slyvania LC320SLX tv that belongs to the SGA that does not power up. I suspect that it is the power supply but I want to show the students a good way to trouble shoot the issue to determine the problem. I was hoping to see some bloated caps, but I do not see any visually damaged caps.
The symptoms the TV has is when you push power, you get no lights or any screen activity. I read on this forum that if you unplug the inverter board, you should get a green led. I attempted that and nothing happened. Where should I attempt to take voltage levels from? Should I just go off the output leg of the voltage regulators?? Is there a was to test the mostfets while they are till in the board?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
