Re: Plasma no power 50PFP5332D/37
Could a bad buffer or sus board be causing my problem PlainBill? Something such as a shorted buffer board causing the SSB to not power on the power supply? I'm pretty sure the power supply is good since I've already tried swapping a "guranteed" board and it didn't fix it. I'm gonna be shipping that one back tomorrow.
The components on the SSB are pretty small and i'm not likely gonna be able to repair it. An LDO regulator is about the smallest thing i'm confortable with soldering.Comment

I'm not sure. A quick test - if the main supply comes up with the power cables disconnected from the sustains, but does not if one or more sustains are hooked up, one (or more) sustains are the problem. If the standby supply is working, but the main supply is not turning on (when the sustains are disconnected from the power supply), there is a problem with either the small signal board or the power supply.

If your still trying to get your plasma to power on take a look at the training manual from scribd

It lists alot of things to try if the tv won't power on.Comment

Re: Plasma no power 50PFP5332D/37
Pulled from manual:
"On the plasma panel, the VG voltage (15.5 volts), D5V and 3V3 voltages switch On. The Relay On voltage switches the Logic Board On. When the Logic board turns On, the board then switches the VS-ON voltage High (3.2V). This switches the VS voltages on the Power Supply. The VS voltage supplies power to the X and Y driver boards.
page 12"
OK, here i have the VG voltage of 15.5 and the D5V. can't find the 3V3 anywhere though.??? The Relay signal has 2.84v while tv is in standby but drops out when power button is pushed (This seems bass ackwards to me). And of course as always, My vs_on is not switching on.
PlainBill, do you still think this is in the SSB? Seems to me like the logic board is the problem by not turning on the vs_on. But, your the expert and i want your advice.Comment

Scroll down to 5.2.2 (page 22). It gives a power supply checklist. I have the pdf on my computer but it won't let me upload it (token missing). I can email it if you want then you'll be able to atleast zoom in some things within the document.Comment

Re: Plasma no power 50PFP5332D/37
Did you check out the pdf i posted on my thread? This 4 page pdf explains putting the tv in stand alone mode. That should be able to rule out the ssb or main logic. I haven't tried on my set yet for giggles, but the scribd link i gave a few days ago isn't correct for our set (even though our model is listed).

Re: Plasma no power 50PFP5332D/37
my main logic has 4 leds. (2000, 2003, 2002, 2001) my main logic PCB # is LJ41-05400A (samsung). LED 2000 & 2003 stay lit when the tv is on. 2001 lights up for about 5-10 seconds then turns off and 2002 blinks.
I unplugged 1M46, 1M03, and 1M02 from the power supply to the ssb. I disconnected the lvds cable from the main logic to the ssb. (it has 16ish multicolored wires) Jump pins 3 &4 on CN2007 on main logic.
Plug is in wall and a/c bung on back of tv but the 2 prong connector (CN8001) disconnected. As soon as i plug the 2 prong connector in the power supply i get 2 clicks and the tv starts up in stand alone mode.
I even went as far as diconnecting the main logic power wire from the power supply and i still get 2 clicks from the relays (albeit no picture)
You've been saying your not getting any clicks at all right?Last edited by Mr Bill; 01-20-2012, 12:16 PM.Comment

Re: Plasma no power 50PFP5332D/37
That last pdf i posted says LED 2000 & 2003 stays on with a solid led. LED2002 turns of when LED 2001 starts flashing. Its goes on to say "Note A" If LED 2001 is not flashing then no data is flowing to the main logic and it maybe deffective.
One last thing, Its says to check CN8002 on the power board (wire going from the power supply to the main logic) Check 2nd pin from the left (VS_ON). If 0 volts is present then the problem is with the logic or ssb.Comment

Re: Plasma no power 50PFP5332D/37
Well, I'm LUCKY, Found a main logic on fleabay for 25 bucks shipped, popped it in and the tv fired right up. Glad to get this big hunker out of the way. Not sure what went wrong on the other logic but anyways, I'm glad it worked. Thanks to everyone for the help. Mr. Bill, your diagrams on the main logic LED's really helped.Comment

Re: Plasma no power 50PFP5332D/37
Hello All,
I have the same TV and have slightly different symptom...
Upon power up, I can hear relay click on and then within couples second, it click off. The one LED on the Power supply board flashing 7 times then off for couples of second then flashing 7 times again. I look at the logic board, and never see any LED turn on... I thought that was my problem... so I bought one logic board on ebay... installed it and I got video... everything seems to work but the next day, I turned it on and everything dead again... Open the case and found that I am back to original problem, the relay click on then off, LED flashing on PS board 7 times and no LED on the logic board... Can some one give me some hint how to fix this TV.... 50PFP5332D/37
Thank you so muchComment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... -
