    Westinghouse LTV32W1

I picked up this tv today and at first glance, The tv came on then after a few minutes would cut off. The timing of when it cut off was not always the same. After taking the cover off, I looked for bulging caps. There were none to be found. I checked the ESR on the caps to be good. After placing the board back on the chassis, I powered the unit back on to test the power rails. Eureka! I pressed down on the power supply board and the tv cut off. I found a bad solder joint on the transformer at pin #10.

So far, so good. The tv is working great. One thing I did notice, the blue LED light on the front doesn't come on. The only way I've noticed that it does work is when I unplug the tv from the wall. It will flash for a split second and go out. The standby LED doesn't work either and of course the tv powers on and works fine. Has anyone run into this? It seems very backwards to what I'm used to seeing with these tvs.

yeah I ran into that same thing however I ended up replacing the mainboard as I thought I found severe corrosion on it. I thought someone had spilled something inside. After I got the new mainboard I noticed that it had the same corrosion on the same chips. Must have been something from the factory. Strangely, it fixed the problem that I was having and then the blue standby LED wouldnt work anymore. I thought it was just me.

      Re: Westinghouse LTV32W1

After searching on the Web, I found out that Westinghouse had disabled the LED because it bothered people for being so bright. This tv, with the firmware version 0.37, is included. Later versions had a setting in the menu to turn the LED on or off.

Hey I'm a newbie...but I am having the same problem. Where as the tv comes on for about 15 mins then shuts itself off and won't come back on as if it had to rest or cool down. I completely changed the power board and that's not the problem. can anyone point me in another direction for a successful repair?

            Westinghouse W55UW4620 No Video
            by Nicktronic
Ok, so I know I know, it's a Westinghouse....lol It's got the backlights but no video. Likely the panel, but I'd like to take some measurements on the buffer board with help from you experts to confirm. See the attached pictures. In pic #1, there's a nice pin reference to use to take some measurements. The large IC in pic #7 gets up to 60degC when the TV is on.

So, backlights, no video, go! 🙂...

Help Request - Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105)
            by EBW
Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105) . Originally stuck on logo with no response from remote and no firmware file available to flash via USB. Westinghouse Support stated it would require service but that wasn't a cost effective option. I used dental floss to remove the motherboard processor heatsink to identify what make it was (Mstar). Unfortunately that knowledge didn't help with a solution. After the heatsink removal it only displayed a completely white screen. I then decided to replace the motherboard with a universal 3-in-1 board but the white screen problem continued. This...

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply
            by Seville
            Hello all!

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply .

I have a Westinghouse LED TV, model WD48FAB100 that is not powering on. Upon removing the back cover, I noticed a burn mark where the AC cord connects to the power supply/main board. In this model, there is only one board combining the two functions. Previous owner said the TV experienced a lightening strike, but who knows. I checked the main fuse, tested OK. Here are a collection of readings from the power supply ports. Looking for some guidance on what to test/check next....

Hi All... Me again. Begging for help. The guy who now believes it's possible to fix a TV (one of the millions) one can find on the streets of NYC. I hate hate hate waste...

Thanks to y'all's help I fixed and am happily watching a 70inch Sharp Aquos. Perfect. Learned a lot, replaced LEDs. Pulled screen/panel. Proud.

This is a newer set. It's a Westinghouse Roku WR58UX4019. It was RIGHT outside my place literally, and I couldn't resist. 58in. 500$ new, but I'm not a rich man. So, I want to try.
