    Source for IC 0Z9938GN - Toshiba 22CV100U

Hi forum. I'm Looking for the IC that drives the ccfl flyback circuit on this tv. It is marked "0Z9938GN" and is a 16 pin smd.

The unit was dead when I got it. No activity on the primary side as in the reservoir capacitor had a good charge but the pwm chip was not running and the npn fet was leaking. Purchased the pwm chip from digikey (SG6742MRSYCT-ND), a replacement fet (TK8A65D(STA4QM)-ND), and a replacement diode for D101 (shorted) which restored most of the smps. Standby voltage and main board are working great and there is an image on the screen but no backlight. The smd chip described above has shorted VDD to Ground. Also one of the two FETs that drive the flyback transformer for the backlight was giving low ohms reading from drain to source. Replaced both of these parts as well (using FDD8424HCT-ND). After removing the 0Z9938GN IC I measured vdd pin which gave ~6 volts so I'm confident replacing this IC will restore the backlight function.

If you have this part or know of an alternative or where to source this part I'd appreciate your reply.

    Thank you.

Ebay.com has several if you search for OZ instead of 0Z (i.e. letter O). Under $5 with free shipping.

Thanks! Once I have it installed I'll update the thread as to whether or not it is working correctly. Not sure what happened to the board to cause soo much damage. Again, thank you.

findchips.com is another way to search all the major distributors, but when I used it, there was no supplier for your chip.

We have seen variations of this chip used in lcd monitors.

Post the pictures of the back of the TV, then we can tell you which one is the inverter board.

I have a few other tvs,is there another part that can be used there? Or does it have to be the OZ9938GN ?

It has to be the same since the circuits are built based on that IC design, there is no second source for the IC made by O2 Micro.

And the other two parts he replaced,a Fet and the PWM,what are those? What do they look like? I'm pretty new to fixing Tvs,so far I've had good luck and fixed a few,I just don't know the names of everything yet. Thanks for the help and info

Ok so I replaced that IC and now if I shine a light on it I can see what's on the screen,so im guessing its a backlight issue, what do I need to replace now to solve the backlight problem? Thanks
