Westinghouse LTV-32W6 no picture, no sound

the tv will power on but the backlight does not come on and there is no sound when connected to inputs. the power light comes on but it will not turn off until unplugged. the voltage coming off the power board follows:

    pins 4-6: 21.1 mV
    pin 7: 5.03 V
    pins 10-11: 20.9 mV

pictures attached. please let me know which grounds to use when testing the system board and anything else you need to help me. thank you

        cn2003 pin 1 is 2.99V

i don't get anything when i try to check the pins going to the inverter board, cn2002. should there be anything going to them?

CN2003, pin 1 turns on the main supply. For some reason it's not starting up.

is it sending the correct voltage or is the problem on the power supply board that i should be looking for?

The problem is on the power supply board. What is the part number of IC1005 (on the bottom of the power supply board)?

Could be; some %#@$T^$%&^Y*$ companies use house numbers, may they rot in heck.

It's possible to check. njdev95av, with power disconnected what is the resistance from the negative lead of C1005 to pin 10 of IC1005? Also, what is the resistance from J23 to pin 11 of IC1005? From the upper end of R1052 to pin 15 of IC1005?

And lastly, with power on, what is the voltage at pin 12 of IC1005? Use the negative lead of C1005 as the ground point.

It appears that is not an L6598.

I'll spend some time going over the pictures and see if I can come up with some other points to test.

If you are in a hurry to get the TV working, it might be a good idea to se if you can buy a working power supply.

Just to add a side note -

I recently had a LTV-32W1. It's not that much different than the LTV-32W6 - boardwise. It gave me similar symptoms. I opened it up and found that the main/tuner board had rusting on it as if it had gotten wet. I was pissed cause I got this on CL from some student. Since most of the rusting was around IC 803 ( a tiny multi pin packaged IC chip on the 3rd picture of the original post), I tried to clean it up the best I could and plug it back in. No Dice.

Now, knowing this board had a problem I didnt really suspect the power board and I ordered a replacement main board on ebay. When it came it had the same exact rusting as the other one did. So now I know that this is from the manufacturer. The replacement board worked - oddly. I still cleaned it up after I tested it, and it retested ok.

                                        - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                        - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                        - it keeps rebooting
                                        - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                        - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                        - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

                                        Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound

                                        Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                                        Symptom:
                                        No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                                        No sound at all.

                                        What I tried:
                                        1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...
