    Mitsubishi Projection TV Loses Sync

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65613 TV that has developed a problem. After the TV is on for a while it will suddenly appear to lose horizontal sync. Actually I could be wrong on that. The pitcture just becomes a mess. So far we have been able to fix the problem by turning the TV off and right back on again. We don't even have to wait for anything to cool down.

That right there has me a little puzzled. It seems problems often get better as they warm up.

Once the picture goes bad it doesn't matter which input I put the TV on.

This is not the commong cap problem on the DM board that causes the blinking light issue. I fixed that a number of years ago. I replaced the 4 caps and it has been good until now.

I have looked things over and so far I don't see any obvious bulging or leaking capacitors.

As my test equipment is limited, I'm having trouble getting a heading on this problem. I'm not sure if I'm chasing the power supply issue or something on the signal board. Or, one of the other several boards.

    I do have the schematics.

I have fixed several TV's in my life, but I admit I'm very much a rookie. Does anybody have some suggestions?

I had that problem on some CRT TVs and were caused by bad caps (with leakage but looking fine even if they aren't lytics) on horizontal section on TV (those near the flyback and h transistor).

I didn't look much in the deflection end of the frame. It sounds like I need to check out the horizontal down there.

I managed to get a picture of what I'm seeing. Definitly a horizontal scroll. It took a few attempts with a slower exposure to capture it.

      Thanks.

I'd still check for bad caps on the power supply, in the horizontal drive section (the circuitry connected to the primary of the horizontal drive transformer), and caps on the horizontal output with an ESR meter.

I have had plenty of TVs with bad caps that showed no external signs of failure.

An Orion made set comes to mind it had a bunch of low temperature 85c Rubycons with high ESR causing all kinds of problems on the set. The caps were fine but the rated temperature was too low they got replaced with 105c Panasonics.

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

It did turn out to be caps on the horizontal output section. I pulled checked and replaced 5 caps. The only one that really tested bad was C5A10 which is a 100uf cap right next to a large heat sink and transistor.

            Hi Everyone,

I've been working on repairing this beautiful CRT monitor off and on for the past several months and I'm really at a loss for what might be causing the problem.

Unlike other common Horizontal Deflection issues which result in a steady vertical line, when I turn the monitor on, there is a pulsing (somewhat segmented) vertical line. I've attached a photo that shows the issue (difficult to capture without video)....

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
            by Ihandyrepair
            Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
            by kotel studios
            Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....

Samsung UE70TU7100 - flickering horizontal lines
            by mrsith
            Hello again good souls.

Got an UE70TU7100. The TV starts up just fine, but right hand side of the screen is horizontal striped a bit, and there are some flickering horizontal lines on the whole length of the screen. I've seen similar static horizontal lines sometimes, when applying the cut tape method and covering wrong number of pins.

I've cleaned every connector with ipa, tried cut tape method on main LVDS ribbon as well as small ribbons, connecting the panel boards at the bottom. Tried squeezing the bezel and playing around COFs, but no reaction at all. COFs and...
