just went through the thread for the same tv below this one but i am getting a different picture problem but started with the same problem, the tv was given to me and turned on had audio but no video.
just by chance i seen someone selling one in the bst here a couple days later because there kid hit the screen with a toy and cracked it, the original tv i had was a 42pc3dva-ud and the one i bought was a 42pc3d-ud.
upon taking the tv's apart the only difference i see is that the xl and xr boards are different and the bottom and the y drive board that attaches to the y sus board is also different. the only problem i have found so far was a bad fuse on the y sus board and i swapped the z-sus board, the tv now powers on and somewhat has video but it looks like it has 6 partial pictures of the same thing all crammed into the one screen if that makes any sense, i will try to get a pic of it and post it later
