Philips 42PF5331/10 Plasma stuck looping test pattern

Hello all, first post and sorry if am posting a question that has already been answered but search turned up nothing. Basically my mother has the above plasma TV and it has worked fine for 3 years or so but a couple of days ago she turned it on and it started cycling through red green blue screens, then a crosshatch screen and finally a test card screen. The screen itself seems fine, the red green blue screens are solid with no errors and good strong colour, crosshatch is a bit messed up with a bit of flickering but the test card is spot on as well.

Not knowing much about plasma technology I am at a bit of a loss but the screen itself seems fine so I am suspecting a dodgy controller board of some kind but have no idea where to begin. Haven't fixed a plama before but I have done some board level mods on old PC motherboards many moons ago so I am willing to have a dabble (taking full precautions of course), just need some advice and pointing in the right direction if possible.

    Many thanks.

Ok thanks bud, grabbed a service manual and will try all the obvious stuff like service mode and reseating all connectors first.

Quick and easy test. Pull the LVDS cable that links the Small Signal Board (the one with all the inputs) to the Main Control Board (behind the SSB). The Misc Main Board often has a test mode that will do what you are seeing. It could also be a test mode on the main board, but usually they exit test mode if power is turned off.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Surface Pro 7 - SSD heating up in an unusual pattern, stuck at boot
          by Prott
          Hello fellow Badcappers,
I have a Surface Pro 7 that's turning on (CPU heating up, USB powered, LCD powered) stuck on a boot logo. BIOS should be correct (ME cleaned, worked in a different S7Pro), no shorts. Only thing that seems a bit weird is the pattern in which the SSD chip is heating up. Is that normal behaviour? Rest of the SSD is 10 degrees colder.

I have replacement SSDs, but it's quite a hassle to reball and install them, so I would like to avoid doing this step if possible.

          Thank you!

Hisense stuck in Colors cycle like test pattern.
          by nono34
          Hello,

I accidentally changed the project ID in the service menu of my Vidaa Hisense 100U7KQ TV. When I turn on the TV, the screen displays an RGB color cycle (test mode???). I contacted Hisense, and they sent me a usb_MTK_9618.EU.bin file, but it doesn't work. I can see that the USB drive is being read, and it flashes for about 10 minutes (the screen remains in the color cycle during the firmware reading), then the TV turns off and restarts, but still in the color cycle mode.

I want to mention that the 4GB USB is formatted in FAT32 MBR. I've also renamed the file to...

Hi everybody, I have an annoying problem with my TV. HOPE someone can help me out of this.

Well, I bought 2 weeks ago a new mainboard for this TV because the original CPU died. All seems okay, the mainboard works and the TV turned on again, seems like this mainboard is from a 55PFL6158K, that is apparently compatible with the 42 model.

I have the next problem: the ethernet MAC Address is empty in the settings menΓΊ, if I connect an ethernet cable the green light turn on in the router but not in the TV, no internet connection through the ethernet.
