Led tester ,can it be trusted?

Hi just wondering if those cheap led testers are reliable.
I ve read somewhere here that these testers can show good leds ,and turns out that they are not.
    So how can this happen?
If they light up how can they be bad?
    Do leds can be "half"good?
    How can i diagnose this?
    Thanks edgar

my one seems to work ok apart from you can get a shock off the leads and the instructions say it cant happen .. i use mine mainly to check working ones to see what voltage they are .

It uses low current to test them
so when tv psu sends current through its higher and those weak leds don't work..

Thanks for the info ,So what you are saying is that the tester can light them up but thats not an accurate result.
They can be bad and still light up,correct?
Also ,what can i use to do a proper test to leds?

I use mine to find the bad leds that dont light up and also check voltages. If i'm that far in the tv, then 9 out of 10 times the entire panel gets new leds anyway. Makes no sense to fix a few leds. You'll be back soon doing it again.

They have newer led testers that let you adjust current going to them for better testing.

how can i test individual leds without tester
                  by nubinator
Hello I have TCL 65S4 and it has no backlight, seems common problem on this tv to have bad LED's. I have no tester though I thought I could just test each LED with 2xAA batteries for 3v but it doesnt light up at all?
I saw a vid with LED tester on this TV and it had 130v for 1 good line which is 24 LEDs does that mean it needs around 5.5v per LED?

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs

                  Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

                  Hi folks!
I have some kind of memory problem on Lenovo laptop. I was initially able to install windows after several tries since the laptop did freeze in middle of those attempts.
Eventually I discovered that it was related to moving the laptop.
Later on it even stopped booting unless I pressed around the memory slot. (no keyboard LEDs only power button responds)
If I remove the RAM I get the beeps that RAM is missing. Inserting the RAM there is silence and it will not boot most of the time. No picture.

I removed the board got one of those memory slot testers...

RCA RLDED 4331B: 43 inch LED TV: Backlight issue
                  by lmcancu
Hi I am having an issue with the LED backlight of this TV. I can see the picture with a flash light, so I determined it was a backlight issue.

Initially, after opening it I found 2 shorted and 1 open LED on 2 strips (total of 4). I removed the LEDs and shorted the pads together to verify if the backlight would work.

Testing it, I found the backlight turned on and I measured 54V when TV was in standby (off), and 100v when TV was turned on. The 4 strips each contain 9 LEDs, so 36 in all minus 3.

Instead of putting it back together I decided to replace...

I got this device yesterday and did some testing on some tabbing and some incandescent light bulbs and it seems to work very well from what I can tell but how do I know how accurate the m-ohms section is what can I use to verify it accurately I also tested some li-ion battery cells and this seems to be fairly accurate because I have another tester and they seem to agree with each other

I also checked some capacitors with it that were brand new and seem to show about what I expected to see with my blue capacitor tester so I think it...
