    Agora AGR-19-822-COB, Backlight Fault

    Hi,
I use this as a 19 inch CCTV monitor, via the SCART socket.
Last night after power up, worked for a few seconds, then shut down.
Standby light flashing orange and a chirp from the power supply transformer.
Normal standby is blue, power on is orange.
Power Board is Vestel 17ips16-4 version 20522876.
Checked diodes D814,D815,D817,D818 and startup cap C807 33UF/50V all OK.

Wisp of smoke from 8 pin smd chip near CCFL back-light driver transformer.
On power down and power up, TV will go to standby and power up with no back-light.
Evidence of Menu on screen seen albeit lit by a torch.

    Question.
Could the CCFL arrays be faulty?, if so is there a way to test them with a power supply and if so what voltage?
I test LED backlights via a 30 volt DC power supply,so straight forward.
Obviously the power board is visually faulty, are these still available?
Don't have access to rework SMD devices.
    Cheers
    Steve

      Hi,
Managed to download schematic for power board.
      IC102 listed as FDS8962C
      Can you confirm type number?
      Cheers

Have ordered some FDS8962C chips which are complimentary pair mosfet packages.
        Also ordered CCFL tester.
If both CCFL tubes are faulty, is an LED conversion straightforward bearing in mind the current power board is a Vestel 17ips16-4.
Am thinking of supply, standby and brightness control arrangements.
        Thoughts guys?

Finally sussed fault and after a lot of fun and games dismantling the LCD screen discovered a burnt electrode arcing to chassis on one of the CCFL tubes.Replaced with LED backlight kit with driver board.Connected 12v supply,Ground,Dimmer and Enable lines off power board header to signal board. The power board is a Vestel 17ips16-4.What I need to do now it to disable the inverter, can anyone tell me which component to remove to disable its power feed please?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

            Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
            by GLISIT
            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

            TV LG39LN575S, no backlight power, EAX64905301(2.2), MAP3202
            by hikomalek
            Hello,
I would be really grateful for your suggestion how to repair a no backlight power on TV LG39LN575S. There is a visible menu on a screen when I use external torch (so logic board and panel works correctly), there is just no backlight.

I have connected a logic board which is turning on power board and disconnected LED backlight cable.

            Power board:
            REV2.0 2013.03.28
            PCB: EAX64905301(2.2)
            LGIT PCB P/N: 3PCR00184A

            IC LED driver MAP3202

            MAP3202 voltages:
            (1) EN = 2.75V
            (2) VCC = 12.05V
            (3) GATE = 0 V...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
            by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Razer Blade 2016 6700k 1060 RZ09-01952 suspected backlight power rail issue.
            by shellybelly
            Back Story
I just recently purchased a RZ09-01652 Razer Blade 14 Touch v4(2016) as a project. I suspect the original motherboard had overheated and caused board damage to the vrm's for the CPU and GPU as now that motherboard works however will lockup on you often due to hardware clock issues.
So after some research and looking at options for replacement motherboards I got a replacement RZ09-01952 razer blade 14 motherboard which has the 1060 vs the 970m that was in my original motherboard. I have contacted the seller about the motherboard being bad however I doubt they will be...
