Make sure it's actually a backlight problem.
Disconnect the cable to main board and see if backlight is still flickering.

see if that helps, it is good to try to verify the problem before tearing into that BIG screen, the bigger they are the easier they are to break, I don't like using suction cups, some do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvI7nMP2_M0

I unplug the main board and still flashing LEDs and there’s also dark spots where the LEDs aren’t lighting up when they flash, Thank you for the video but that’s not the same 78 like I have there’s no bezel screws on this one.

This is QLED tv correct? I believe it’s thin boarder where screen goes edge to edge. If so it’s glued down and will need to be very careful taking it out. Other than that it’s just like any other tv.

If you have never removed a panel before I don’t recommend this for your 1st one being as big as it is.

Yeah I believe it is a QLED I’ve replaced some back lights before just makes me a little nervous with the glued in the screen.

It was the backlights replaced them now it working and the screen is held in by the bezel it snaps on to the fame once you remove it the screen will lift out together.

I used a small screw driver and carefully releasing the bezel, one side then top and other side then clips on bottom once the cables are removed for the screen tape them to the screen I used suction cups with just enough pressure to hold screen don’t squeeze to tight on suction cups. Or you will damage it then just lift and screen comes out with bezel on this model. After this goes just like any other edge lit tv, hope the helps others.

                                      Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a great day, and thank you very much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post to help me with my parents' Samsung TV.

                                      My issue: No backlight.

                                      Model: QE82Q70RAT
                                      Type No: QE82Q70RAT

The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.

So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

Symptom is dim backlight - this set came in with almost no backlight.

1 - Replaced all backlight LED strips (set had lots of hours at level 20 backlight)

Backlight improved significantly - about like it would be set to a level 3 or 4. Setting all the way to 20 seems to...
