varying voltage on enermax power supply

I make bench power supplies out of the old xt supplies and I have found that if I put a 13k resister in series with a 200k pot between pin 1 and ground I can vary the voltage between 12.5 to 14.5. this works on the supplies with tl or dbl494 chips. Well I Got a enermax eg365p-ve supply and the sneaky s.o.b's use a different chip. It has a uc3842mn in it. Has any one tried varying the voltage on supplies with this chip?

What else are you varying besides voltage out? Have you checked the ripple? How does this change the output of the PWM chip? Remember, when you gain somewhere, you're gonna lose somewhere. Higher voltage = Lower current. Do you use an oscilloscope or are you tinkering blindly?

TL494 is old outdated design for half-bridge (hence it being common on XT designs). Enermax isn't usually cheap, and I think this uses single transistor forward.

Wait, why do you want to ruin a perfectly good power supply?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

        LM358 LM358S-13 Datasheet
        by Document Archive
The LM358 LM358S-13 consists of two independent, high gain, internally frequency compensated operational amplifiers which were designed specifically to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages. Operation from split power supplies is also possible and the low power supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the power supply voltage.

Application areas include transducer amplifiers, dc gain blocks and all the conventional op amp circuits which now can be more easily implemented in single power supply systems. For example, the LM358 series can be directly...

coocaa 50S5G smart tv dropped voltage when connecting power supply to mainboard
        by Jembang
good day hoping someone can lend a hand, im repairing smart tv 50 inch, status when turning on back light is dim but you can see the tv logo then slowly fading out to black, i check the supply to tcon, i only read 5+v, must be 12v, i removed lvds cable and check voltage to mainboard turned on its also 5v, then i remove the cable mainboard to power supply, i read 12v in power supply, thinking that the problem is in the mainboard, coz theres 12v in power supply, i also check while turning on checking volts in main board 12v dropping to 5v, im just new repairing in TV, hope someone see my post t...

How to modify a switching power supply that has voltage/current adjustable but powering it from a battery pack
        by sam_sam_sam
I have been pondering this question for a while but now I have see if this doable but I need to answer this question once and for all

I would like to know how to safely do this undertaking my first thought is to solder wires to the main filtering capacitors and see
what voltage I am getting and seeing if I can build a battery pack with voltage or not and if

I can find a BMS balancing protection board at this voltage level and weather or not do I have use more than one BMS balancing protection board...
