I recently replaced a physically broken fan on an Enermax Whisper EG365P-VE FC model PSU that has been in service for more than 4 years. I figured I might as well inspect the caps. The caps are all fine. They appear all to be made by one company. The logo appears to be one italicized script P. Can anyone make any sense of this?

Well I'm at my summer residence and I forgot my digital camera. I have a capacitence meter though. Whatever company did make these things deserves a round of applause, as I remember shorting this PSU out once when i missed the floppy connector pin by one and fried the connector off. Amazingly the PSU is alive with no internal damage whatsoever and performs better than many new cheap power supplies. You have to love Enermax.Comment

they have overcurrent/voltage protection like many other good psu, so thatś not a special ability.... i remember i once make a fan controller circuit and plugged to a molex connector, its fried its transistor and potensiometer, the psu just shut down and still alive/usable after then...
my psu is thermaltake twv 480W APFC.
since you have tinkering with your psu, tell me how to dissamble some of it parts like the fan, board, pfc circuit, and many else coz i cant figure out how to disassemble this thing, itś super tight..

I have two projects on my work bench. One is a friends dead JBL Xtreme speaker with a blown voltage regulator and corresponding bulged and shorted cap. That cap has clear markings so I know what replacement I need for it.
The other project however is a whole different deal. It's a Zoom 9000 guitar effect from the 90th that has developed a devil hound howl when there is no input from the guitar. I'm guessing caps problem. So, since I don't really use this effect anymore I thought it would be a perfect project to learn on.

So, pulled a motherboard out from storage, was working when put away, wont post when I took it out of storage today.
Since it was working, and it looks to be essentially time that killed it I figured its a good idea to replace the caps before digging further.
Looks to be only good quality caps on this board, so might not be the issue. But it is closing in on 20 years now so, wont hurt i guess

First, I am a complete noob with high voltage stuff. I'm learning, but I need help by someone looking over my shoulder.
I recently came into posession of a Heathkit IO-4205 5MHz Dual Trace Oscilloscope. The documentation is copyright 1978. I'm told it works.
I opened it up to check the caps before I applied power, and found the following black caps and wanted to know what they were. They are on the power supply board. I was able to read the name and model and came up with, "Nytronics 162J-1, 0.1uF, 20% tolerance, 2000VDC."

I just noticed that my Asus V9999GT (GeForce 6800 GT) had some swelling capacitors. I managed to identify the brown ones, which are Nippon Chemi-Con KZG series, 6.3V 820µF, which I plan to replace with this.
But for the yellow ones, I guess these are Fujitsu caps, without being able to identify which series... A picture of the video card is attached to the topic.
I need to replace:- 2x 2.5V 1500µF => I plan to use this
- 2x 16V 330µF=> I plan to use this
- 1x 6.3V 680µF=> I plan to use this
