Evga Nvidia 7600gs Agp
I was wondering if anyone can identify the blue caps with the orange stripes on this EVGA graphics card?...

Refurbished Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Revision 4
Does anyone have a clue as to what those yellow caps are?
They look kind of out of shape. Sorry can't get a closer picture as I do not have the board.

Stone / Hermei Caps ~ Nexland / Zyxel
I've recently discovered Stone caps in Nexland networking products and Hermi caps in Zyxel products. What's the deal with shoddy caps in reputable network equipment. I think there's nothing to worry about as both seem to work well even after 4 years each. Though the Wavebase gets a bit weird sometimes. Makes me wonder.

Re: GSC Caps On Albatron TNT2 M64
I just wanted to add there are no signs of wear on the caps and this card has been under a lot of stress over the years, with bad or no cooling as the heatsink is passive.

Teapo Caps In Good Enlight PSU
I've recently opened my out of warranty test system Enlight PSU that has been reliable for over 2 years now. I was surprised to find TEAPO and Jepcon? caps all over the place inside. The PSU functions perfectly and the caps meter shows no wear on any of the caps. Was I lucky or is Teapo doing a better job these days? Do you think the PSU will fail sooner rather than later? Opinions anyone?

GSC Caps On Albatron TNT2 M64
I recently dug up an old Albatron TNT2 M64 and was quite disappointed to see GSC caps on the board. I have had this card for 3 years as a testing card and never noticed the caps till now. I am wondering if I should stop using the card. The two caps are both rated 470 microfarad 10 V. Is this something to worry about or are the caps two small to pose any real danger?

Re: Trouble Identifying Enermax PSU Caps
Well I'm at my summer residence and I forgot my digital camera. I have a capacitence meter though. Whatever company did make these things deserves a round of applause, as I remember shorting this PSU out once when i missed the floppy connector pin by one and fried the connector off. Amazingly the PSU is alive with no internal damage whatsoever and performs better than many new cheap power supplies. You have to love Enermax.

Trouble Identifying Enermax PSU Caps
I recently replaced a physically broken fan on an Enermax Whisper EG365P-VE FC model PSU that has been in service for more than 4 years. I figured I might as well inspect the caps. The caps are all fine. They appear all to be made by one company. The logo appears to be one italicized script P. Can anyone make any sense of this?

Re: Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro G
Thanks for the reply. That sounds reassuring. The board was 1.5 years old at the most. I'm pretty sure the PSU killed it.

Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro G
I recently replaced a customer's motherboard that had (only one) blown capacitor. The motherboard was a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G. It seems however that her power supply (Powmax ~ surprise surprise) caught on fire and that may have done it in. Anyway I'm posting here because not only do I have a couple of these boards myself, but also I'm responsible for a whole bunch of other computers with this board. There seems to be no other capacitor problems on any of the boards I have inspected so far. (I went through 13 so far. All boards were manufactured in 2004.)
Does anyone have a...Last edited by Closersource; 06-30-2005, 10:08 PM.
