    APC Back-UPS Pro BP1000I Issue.

    Hi there.

I'm trying to troubleshoot an APC Back-UPS Pro 1000VA BP1000I that is not working correctly and I don't know where to start.

If I turn it on without load it will start ok and switch to battery without issue, but if I put loads on it it will start beeping and the overload led will turn on despite the load being not even close the the maximum load this UPS can support. (I will try to access the maximum load it will withstand without overloading)

This is a fairly old UPS, but I know it is good quality and it is better that most newer ones, specially the cheap ones.

Any ideas where I should start troubleshooting this problem?

    Cheers.

They tend to do this when battery has high internal resistance. It will show you good voltage but won't have any grunt behind it.

Always check battery with load, open (no load) Voltage may show good on the meter but it does not mean if the battery is good.

Testing ATX PSUs under load - Does loading the ATX 24 pin also load EPS & PCIE?
          by AJ847.63e
          Hi Folks,

Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?

I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.

The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't...

Also tried swap ram,and clean everything.
