Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
I bought one from eBay seller bestmodule (no affiliation) and it has worked fine...
Also be sure to check the servo with no motor connected: because the alarm means the motor output is shorted...Leave a comment:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
Infact even on your unit I think the connections are the same, just one phase left not connected?
That is how I test my servos: they are for 230v three-phase but here my three phase is 400v just like in Finland so that's no good.
So I just hook it up to phase and neutral and it works just fine for testing...Leave a comment:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
You can verify what is "Pn" with an ohms meter:
P = Positive of DC bus capacitors
N = Negative of DC bus capacitors
I have only worked on three-phase versions, so I don't have one with phase and neutral.
But the primary side will never be referenced to mains (L1, L2, L3)

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
Welcome to Badcaps jamseil!
I have a doubt about how you are measuring the voltage:
There is no "N" conductor exposed on these small units so you can't measure the bus voltage directly.
But you can of course measure the voltage directly on the capacitors if you have removed the covers and power it up.
But there is no need for that: you can just calculate it instead as I explained in post #26 if you measure the incoming line voltage.
It would be my guess from your pictures that what you are seeing here with the meter is the negative DC bias of the DC bus voltage, please see this thread for an idea what I mean:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
Hello to everyone from Finland.
First thanks to Per for sharing this, it's been great help for me and saved lot of time.
I'm working with MR-J2S-10A with AL.E9 here, it have 78 khours power-on time. I measured bus voltage, Mitsu was showing 200V and meter around 160V.
Before removing servo driver from machine I saved used parameters in Melservo software, if parameters will be lost from servo driver during repairing process.
This far I have managed to work with memory battery on board, so maybe also absolute zero point aren't lost.
Board lay-out is bit different that in bigger brothers, but 7800 opto is also under IGBT module. It's quite PITA to remove, because most of the legs are flat. Those doesn't fit inside desolderin irons tip, so it's hard to get all solder from holes. Took some time, two irons and desoldering wick to get rest of the solder from holes.
7800 seem to be hard to get right now, in most places it's sold out and they get those at summer or maybe next year. Found three from here, there is one left now.

There is also some differences in caps in this smaller model.
I already got caps locally and now waiting that opto to arrive overseas...Leave a comment:

AL.25 is probably low battery according to the manual.
AL.E9 is well described in this thread already?Leave a comment:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
Nice, thanks for posting the solution.
It might be a good idea to get the communication cable.
So you can actually check the bus voltage and be 100% sure of the fixLeave a comment:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
Welcome to Badcaps!
Your servo also has the LCD display, it is just in another location.
I attached photos of a 200A servo here, you can see the display behind the cover shows 322v.
This DC voltage you can measure between terminals P & N that I labeled in the photo, it should be similar in your servo.
(It is only the small servos (80A and below) that do not have one of these two terminals).
But in any case you can use cooling spray: so cool down the opto you suspect and watch the "Pn" voltage in the LCD display:
If you find the right optocoupler it will drop allot!
P.S: I attached the display flowchart!Leave a comment:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
hi all, i'm new on this forum , and i happy to read this post because I have the same issue with a Servo Amp mitsubishi MR-J2S-500B. i'm sorry for my bad english, please don't be angry!
I have 2 servo whit the same E9 one of two go to the repair society but they are not sure troublesoot it .
so i want try troubleshoot the second by my self!
m'y servo amp , show me an E9 and in the the datta sheet is :
AL.E9
Main circuit off warning Servo-on (SON) was switched on with main circuit power off.
Switch on main circuit power.
but this servo ( an 3 phases input) is powered . it smell the same error like you on your mr-j2S-100
on your precedent mesage you say read the bus voltage I suppose you talk about the DC rail after the PD3( 3 phases Graetz bridge).?
on this version of SAMP i' d'ont have button to enter the menu. and i d'ont have pilot systéme so is hard to make measurment.
with your experience, i found one opto 7800 but is not near the DC rail is on the smalest PCB but i can change it !
near the DC rail i found 0I12 , is an opto TLP621 and it's Diode is concted thougth the resistor to the DC rail i suspect a probleme with it.
on my PCB OI15 is not a 7800 is V454.
if your have idea i'm very interested about it!
thank you so muchLeave a comment:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
Hello, please write in English as this is a English forum, SMDFlea translated the post for you this time.
You would begin by measuring the bus voltage on the main capacitors of the drive.
And then compare this to what the drive shows the bus voltage as itself via its internal status display "Pn"Leave a comment:

Re: Mitsubishi Melservo MR-J2S-100A alarm: AL.E9
Hello
I have an MR-J2S-60A
I wired it by manual on 230v single phase,
it lights up fine, but it gives the error
Al E9 - "Main circuit de-energized warning"
I don't know where the alarm came from.
thanks in advance for all your help.Leave a comment:

by DrewPhillipsHello All, I have on the bench a couple of PSU's which have some failed Nichicon PL series caps. They didn't "puke" their guts through the top, but instead "diarrhea'ed" corrosive brown electrolyte through the bottom, down the legs and onto the board. On one cap, the electrolyte rotted the cap right off the board leaving 2 little stubs, and also corroded a trace on the foil side.
The PSU's are Power-One MAP series and are ringing-choke topology. The semiconductors have date codes in 1993. The PSU's were used in a commercial application, fan-cooled. They had failed...-

by Tom41This house has a Honeywell Accenta G3 alarm system. If the main unit loses power for any reason, the external siren sounds - even if the alarm is not even armed! Entering the code to disarm it is not an option as the keypads are completely dead when the power is out.
I presume this means the backup battery inside the box has failed, but I can't get in there and replace it without also setting off a tamper alarm! Is there any way to disable the tamper alarm so that electrical work can be carried out with the power off? Or a way to replace the backup battery without setting off the... -
by nick3092I recently acquired a set of Bose Roomate speakers from the mid to late 80's. Basically the right speaker cabinet is completely passive, and the left one has the power transformer and amplifier circuit in it. Out of curiosity, I opened it up to see what the circuit looked like. Looks like they used all Nichicon VX (2x 4700uF/16v for smoothing off the bridge rectifier), a couple random Nichicon SE series sprinkled on the board, and what really caught my eye - 2 yellow sleeved Nichicon caps (both 1uF/50v with no real series marking. Below are pictures of the caps. The only thing not shown in these...

by slybundaApologies if this is in the wrong section but being a car alarm siren that makes noise i thought it be best to put it in the audio section.
Had weird alarm issues where siren made a strange noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjsqndhionU
took siren out of the car and checked it out and pics attached seem to be the source of the issue.
shockingly the alarm still makes its normal sound if i trigger it manually so speaker seems to be intact.
getting a replacement is gonna be next to impossible, its a Toad Ai606 which is no longer in production and cant see to find a replacement...-

by Ady2017I have got an old Gardtec GT595 alarm which has got a faulty keypad with a failed LCD screen. This was apparently a very common problem with these and many people have had to replace the whole alarm because of this problem. Somebody claims to be able to repair the keypads by replacing the screen and I have tried it myself by replacing the LCD with a commonly available HD44780 1602 16x2 Serial LCD screen but it is not working. I am sure it is a problem with a driver or simular which is not allowing the screen to talk to the rest of the electronics. Does anyone know what this original screen was...
