    Antec SL350 SmartPower Worth Recapping?

I have one of these in full working condition. One of the secondaries is showing a top bulge. Two 80mm fans, ATX-20, single ATX12V, all Molex.

Are these worth the effort to recap, or just toss it?

I don't have one, but hey if it's built well inside, why not recap it. I'm sure it will be much better than any Deer/L&C or Leadman/Powmax/Raidmax any day.

A Fuhjyyu Free Smart Power is a decent PSU.
Thing is every damned cap in them is a Fuhjyyu....
.... and if my old list is right there are 29 of 'em.

Re: Antec SL350 SmartPower Worth Recapping?

I've gone through this 3 times on all 3 of my Antecs it's time comsuming but for myself I did it.

If it was for anyone else I would tell them to give the PSU to me and get another one .

What? It would just be getting trashed anyways I would save it .

I am pretty much a pro at recapping these supplies now I've got it down pretty fast. But the first time is always the most time consuming.

Actually not 100% of the supplies have Fukyuu in the general purpose areas one of my supplies had Koshins there.

I still replaced them but they couldn't be as bad as Fukyuu.

You could just replace the secondary caps and you'd probably be fine but I'm anal about bad caps and like to get any bad brands like Fukyuu out. As I recall my Antec True Power 2.0 350 Watt had Fukyuus on the primary too they had to go.

My Truepowers had Panasonics on the primary so they were left alone.

Re: Antec SL350 SmartPower Worth Recapping?

I've done 4 Antecs now and two were True Power 2.0 550w.
One of the two 550's had one Koshin and the other a Fuhjyyu in that spot.
That's the only Koshin I've seen.
The TP2 550w had a few small 4-5mm and one 8mm Teapo which I left alone.
Treated the Koshin just like Fuhjyyu.

          The SL350 was 100% Fuhjyyu.
          - Not saying they all are but the one I did was.

At a minimum replace all Fuhjyyu with vents.
There are some scattered 6.3 and 8 mm Fuhjyyu that aren't in the output filters and on mine some were vented and leaking crud.

            TR2 Thermaltake W0070RU XP550 NP - worth recapping?
            by mrmazda
Only two search hits here, one casually mentioning lower/middle calibre many many moons ago, not terribly helpful, and the other, simply exposure to it, and neither included the RU suffix. Is this a design worth recapping to keep a 10-15 year old PC operational?

I replaced the obviously bad Ltec LZP 2200uF 16V and the obviously bad pair of CapXon GS 18x40 620uF 200V with Nichicon 22x50 UPT. It lights up my digital PS tester with suitable voltages, but it emits a screechy squeal that just drowns out the two 80mm fans. It probably would only very slightly annoy installed in a PC in...

Recapping Sony ICF-SW55 - verifying cap values
            by proxneo
            Dear reader

I am performing a repair on a Sony ICF-SW55, which includes recapping (some) of the SMD capacitors on the mainboard. I am looking for verification of their values. At the moment, I'm 95% sure I've got the right values, but it is hard to find some official, credible or multiple independant sources on this.

At the moment, I have selected replacements based on the following list of values:

            3 x 470uF 10VDC
            3 x 4.7uF 35VDC
            4 x 47uF 50VDC
            8 x 22uF 6.3 VDC
            1 x 220uF 6.3VDC
            5 x 100uF 6.3VDC

            Which...

Samsung QE55Q65B with shorted D001 diodes on panel board: Worth saving or not
            by madyoyo
            Hi

I have a Samsung QE55Q65B with a seemingly common problem: it turn off and back on after a few seconds, (sometimes more, and in rare instances works for hours). D001 on the left side of the panel is very hot. I may be able to remove it with a very fine iron, but i don't have the equipment to re-solder such small parts.

Is there a risk to run the tv without this diodes diodes? And is it worth to pay someone else to replace it. I read many people who ended up with bad lines after trying to remove/replace them, , or the panel failing in another way, so i want to weight...

            DFI Lanparty NF3 250GB recapping
            by laskr1999
            Hello!
I have got a DFI Lanparty NF3 250GB motherboard, that have all of the capacitors failed, board still working.
I have read, that I need to match ESR, Capacitance, Voltage to have a quality recap, but with ESR im in a problem. 0.012 ohm is what i see on the vrm caps specs, but lowest I could find is 0.018 and up, usually 0.04. Can someone help me find good replacements?
I'm located in EU, and I have found a guy here on the forums who listed the caps, so here are they:
            - 20 x Nichicon 1000uF 6.3v HM 105C
            - 5 x Chemi-con KZG 1000uF 10V
            - 1 x Chemi-con KZG...

            Help recapping DFI motherboard
            by kupa97
I have a DFI LANParty UT nF4 Ultra-D with A TON of bad capacitors and I need help deciding which caps to replace them with, I've never done this before so I'll use this as a learning experience. I have included a color-coded photo of every single bulging capacitor on this motherboard. All bad caps are KZG, the KY and KMG caps seem to be in perfect condition at least visually. I've read about replacing these caps with polymer ones, but I'm not sure which ones to buy. Thanks.

            BLUE = 470uF 16v 8mm x 11.5mm
            GREEN = 1000uF 6.3v 8mm x 11.5mm
            PINK = 1500uF 16v 10mm x 19.5mm...
