Humming sound coming from transformer on 0500-0507-0260 PSU

I have recently repaired Vizio GV47LFHDTV10A with 0500-0507-0260 power supply. While the TV works just fine there is a hum coming from transformer on the power supply. It is really only audible when TV is on mute. It does not increase or decrease as TV warms up, it sounds constant.

Is that something to be expecting from 9+ year old TV, or is that a sign of something wrong on the PSU? Any way to eliminate the hum besides getting a PSU that does not hum?

I would look around for failing components in snubber or noise filtering circuits. Otherwise you can quiet the transformer down, if you have varnish and a vacuum chamber anyway.

Any specific components I should be looking at? My electronic repair skills are still in their early stages. I have never dealt with this type of a problem before.

i once repaired a Hitachi plasma TV and it had an audible noise coming from the chopper transformer , the picture was perfect , however replacing the transformer did not cure the fault it was caused by a fall in capacitance in the main reservoir capacitor so this would be my first check.
