    emacs/zippy mpw-6181f

full of vented fuhjjyu and capxon.
the tool grinder it was in would just die for no apparent reason every 15 minutes.sometimes crashing and busting the grinding wheels and the tool being sharpened.

I'll have to pop open my redundant Emacs. I just assumed they would be good. Talk about expensive crap with crap inside!

I have used a few CapXons in my L&C PSU recap. I guess they don't fail, since I just used 1 2.2uf 50V, 1 4.7uf 50V, and 2 330uf 200V caps from my cap collection. I got 1000uf 6.3V 10MM CapXons in my collection that did not fail yet.

Damn, I am using a Zippy PSL-6700P, should I check it for crap caps?

I guess nobody is immune to bad caps. Though odd that you had some failed CapXons. I have lots of equimpent at work that is loaded with CapXons and I have never seen one fail *knock on wood*

            Is CapXon related to Samxon?

You won't find any in that one - this is the first time I've ever heard of Zippy using Fuhjyyu. Perhaps this is an older unit from back before it was known Fuhjyyu was so bad.

CapXon is no relation to Samxon as far as I'm aware. I have no quarrel with CapXon - they seem to hold up ok in SMPS use.

Best tool to place electrolytic SMD caps on a board
                  by tony359
                  HI all,

I am working on some boards where all 100+ SMD caps have to be replaced (yes, they actually went bad!). I found a workflow to remove them comfortably (two irons, pre-heater and extra hot air for larger ones on ground planes).
When it comes to soldering them back, I add solder to one pad and then I use a plastic tweezer to keep them in the right place while I solder that leg.

The tweezer works - but I was wondering if there is a more "dedicated" tool or whether someone has a better idea. If it was for a bunch of caps then who cares. But because...

Requests to Intel Flash Programming Tool for Linux Ubuntu x86_64
                  by tsavpyn
                  Dear all,
I forgot my BIOS password of my Surface Pro 3, I searched for solutions for a long time and knew that by using FPT to dump my bios to bin file and using decryptor, I can get my BIOS password.
Now I have a problem that I am unable to dump my BIOS into bin file.

My Surface Pro 3 currently runs on Ubuntu 22.04, with Secure Boot enabled and Boot From SSD Only.

I searched for FPT but there is no Linux version and none of them work.
I hereby request a copy of Intel Flash Programming Tool for Linux x64.
I would really appreciate it if anyone...
