Thanks Capxon, for my Zalman ZM750-HP

Got this with fault "doesn't deliver enough power anymore to boot a system"

Through the fan blades, spotted a tiny capacitor looking a bit bloated

Opened for closer inspection, found a 100uf 25v Capxon well past its best-before date

Replaced the Capxon with a Rubycon YXG recycled from (probably) a deceased motherboard

The Rubycon measured 0.13 on my ESR meter, versus 28 for the Capxon

    Pictures show Before and After

Zalman boots a system now, didn't try it before the capacitor replacement

Didn't consider replacing other Capxon - they appeared OK - enough of a challenge doing the one I did

This one's mine now, and it'll lead a pretty easy life

Was a swine to take apart sufficient to get at the bottom of the main PCB

Didn't fancy going any further, not to mention I don't have a professional's stock of caps

Looking for best replacements for Capxons, but can't find data sheets

Recapping the power supply board for a Samsung 305T monitor, everything is Capxon except 2 Rubycons. I can't find data sheets matching these online, so don't know what ripple numbers, impedence, etc, to look for. There are a few different looking GL series data sheet PDFs, but the listing that matches the capacitance and voltage is a much bigger case size. I've narrowed down selections with lead spacing and case diameter, and what's in stock at Digi-key

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
        by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

KingWin ABT-650MM 650 Watt ATX PSU [PCB: SW8835REV:A]
        by momaka
For today's thread, I have a KingWin ABT-650MM ATX PSU. Official web page with the PSU specs is still up and can be found here:
        http://www.rmac.kingwin.com/products.../abt_650MM.asp

I just can't help it when I see a broken / for parts PSU on eBay that's listed for cheap and looks at least somewhat interesting. Well, OK, I won't lie – on the outside, this PSU looks anything but interesting. It's a plain gray box with colorful “spaghetti cables”.

What mostly drew me into buying it is its 2x PCI-E power connectors...

Infamous Rubycon MFZ... Current recommended replacements???
        by bjs59
What we have here today is an Intel DG33FB motherboard, circa 2007... I need to replace some of the caps on this board... From what I have found, one of these caps was sort of well known here back in the day as they were used in XBoxes and XBox 360s as well....They are the Rubycon MFZ series, in particular the 6.3 v 3300uf 10mm X 20mm... I have found a seller on Amazon, The Capacitor Store, that has them listed but I have a hard time believing these are genuine pieces... The original recommendation was to replace any bad ones with Nichicon HZ series since the Rubycon MFZ's were a custom product,...

        Recapping Mean Well MWP-606

Hello, I have this arcade power supply that I'd like to recap for maximum reliability and lifetime since I have found some Capxon and Jamicon capacitors:
        • Capxon GL 10x25 1000uf 16V Ripple: 1180 Impedance: 0.05ohm // Chemi-con KY 1000uf 16V Ripple: 1400 Impedance: 0.046ohm
        • Capxon GL 10x12.5 470uf 16V Ripple: 722 Impedance: 0.095ohm
        • Capxon GS 10x15 22uf 50V 85ºC Ripple: 100
        • Capxon KM 47uf 50V Ripple: 125
        • Jamicon TK 1uf 50V Ripple: 12
        • Jamicon TK 4.7uf 50V Ripple: 36

I have another PSU (same model) that uses Chemi-con KY instead of Capxon GL, and since Panasonic FC are very...
