Do you have any variable power supply?
What is the voltage and current requirement for the monitor?

The DC plug will be the problem since they are not standardized. You may be able to run it using fully charged car battery, but you will have to find the DC plug.

You could get a universal power adapter designed for laptops. Get one of those with tons of tips. Chances are at least one of the tips will work on most of the monitors.

Don't mind buying a variable psu.

I was just thinking they have them kits why not for a variable psu

I was thinking this but most range from 15v

Re: Testing monitors that need power packs

I've seen plenty of universal adapters with 14-24V (I think?) which should be enough for most monitors.

Besides, a 14V power supply should work for a 13V monitor just as well. And a 24V supply would work for a 25V monitor, if you know what I mean. The tolerances are not that tight anyway.

Recycle a 19v DC adapter for laptops and then buy one of those LM2576 or LM25** dc converters from eBay : http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw...erter&_sacat=0

You can set any voltage between about 1v and input voltage, so you can do 12-14v no problems at all up to 3A.

Just forget about the jack, you can just open the monitor and solder the two wires straight to the board.

                          I think I have it

                          cable pigtail 5.5x2.1mm jack

                          And

                          5.5x2.1mm Jack to 28 jacks

Would be what I am after to run off a variable power supply.

You can buy the jacks separately, just search for "power jack set mix" in ebay.

The power supply in the ebay link is a very cheap and crappy adjustable power supply. I wouldn't recommend it even if you have the money.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.
