Hi
Recently I got this tagan tg380-u01 PSU with bad caps on 3.3v rail (the line was 2.5v no load!). Replaced them but no go, so I've replaced all of them, apart from some smaller ones and one under the secondary heatsink. Even that didn't help so I've replaced the others. All caps are known good ones.
Powered it on and heard the breaker pop. Opened it up and saw some smaller caps shorted together. Fixed that up but still it trips breakers. Now I get 0ohms from 5v to GND. Secondary heatsink removed and still a short, even with the PWM IC board removed. All diodes on that... -
by PimpomDoes anyone happen to have a circuit diagram (schematic) of a Tagan BZ700 PSU that they can share? I searched but had no luck.
One of two MOSFETs in the PFC circuit blew about 5 years ago. Not having the exact type, I replaced both with a similar type and it's been running fine, 10-16 hours a day every day, until one blew again last month. On both occasions, the transistor blew when there was a severe power fluctuation and the UPS kicked in and out in rapid succession.
The first time it happened, the PSU simply became inoperative. This time it took out the fuse in... -
by SuperStarrI have a Tagan EasyCon 480W (TG480-U15) power supply.
Unfortunately‚ (or not - I'm here now!) it died so I decided to open it and take a look in hope I will find the culprit and give it another try in case I can fix it.
By the way, I'm just a hobbyist, coming from automotive industry (automotive electrician) but as my (limited) knowledge is most of the time obsolete comparing it with latest tech trends, and I don't have experience with AC, most of the time you will find me searching / learning by following the tutorials, reading forums and some e-books, looking videos and so... -
by dicky96Hi guys
I got a beast of a ATX PSU here with a blown Standby section - Tagan TG700-U25
It takes a power surge at switch on to charge up the main electrolytics then goes to practically no current so I think the main section is probably OK
Problem with this one is the standby section has a discrete power FET which burnt some components on the PCB
Firstly does anyone have a schematic for this supply otherwise I doubt I have any chance of fixing it.
From what I can see the Standby supply provides 5Vsb and possibly the -12V supply rail (or at... -
This is an ATX PSU rated for 550W powering 24/7 a computer load of about 200W, fed by a line-interactive 1500VA UPS. Mains is 230V.
- First issue: the PSU blew a mosfet on what I think is the active PFC boost converter, shorting its G D S pins together causing a short across the + and - lines produced by the rectifier on the 230V mains. The surge protector of the house tripped. When this happened I found that the UPS was unexpectedly disconnected from the wires of its battery. The UPS wasn't damaged, but I suspect this spontaneous detachment of a battery wire caused a condition that blew
