    is this refurbished psu?

i found few model of seasonic that quite old still on sale in my country.
the seller says that the psu is new non refurbished.

but if i look in detail, all of them had old manufacturing date on their parts
the tranny, capacitor & semiconductor date code too old for a new psu.

    check this out.

it cost USD82$ listed for 600w
tranny date code 0809, (year 08, week 09)
like excact copy of tx650? including the manufacturing date!
if you search the batch number in capacitor, it also says 2008 parts.
afaik, psu makers never stock capacitor in large number..

it cost 52usd for 400w.. full range input.
this is the value line, like antec earth watt model.
    including the date code, 0910..
still using champion micro pwm/apfc controler..

this is the new budget line from seasonic that also sell in here.
parts made in 2012.. i'm sure this is non refurb psu.
    s12-ii with infeneon pwm/apfc controler..
the price is 54usd, 220v only..

what do you thing about the first two?
is it refurb psu? worth to buy?
    for comparison new s12ii 520w cost 70$

Possibly. I occasionally see NOS stuff much older than that

You wrote that the s12-ii is $54, then you wrote that it's $70, which is it? At $54 I would prefer it, but if it is $70 and the PC that the PSU is going into uses nowhere near 400W, then I would consider buying the new old stock 400W PSU, BUT look at the brand of capacitors used on the output, it is the best indicator of which will have longer life.

54$ the cost down version of s12-ii. rated at 400w, only 220v input (single apfc mosfet)
              seasonic eco - 400
all using taiwan / chinese caps.. not sure.
this is a brand new psu.

70$ the 'original s12-ii' 520w. all japanese caps.

Help: Looking for guru input on upgrading an S12II-based PSU

The supply in question is an unused/"NOS" Antec EA-500 "80-Plus" (not the "Bronze") with Seasonic's early "500W" S12II board. While I don't yet have this supply in hand, I fully expect it to be filled with OST RLS and RLX. I plan to replace these with FR/FS Panos (mostly).

Of course, I also plan on replacing the big kahuna on the primary side. To that end, I'm currently holding a pageant to determine who'll wear the tiara. Here are the four finalists:

The ravishing "Lady in Red" is the current crowd favorite, largely...

My venerable and old laptop (Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200 equipped with an i7-4700MQ, circa 2014) and previously a powerful machine during its heyday is no more. Have been using it for many years, but about 3 months ago it went kaputt for no apparent reason (left it on overnight [normally it goes to standby mode after some idle time], and in the morning it was cold dead with no boot, no post, no leds; nothing at all).

Since the 1990s I have been building custom desktop computers, etc; but it has been few years since my last built one and for the last 15 years I have built very few...

                Thermador Oven Controler Dim display
                by BPV3242
                Hello everyone,
I'm trying to repair a Thermador 486752 Oven controller. There are many posts on the internet about replacing bad capacitors but I can't find the actual value for the Caps. I pulled the board out to look for myself but I can't see the value unless I de-solder the component (it's in a tight spot) I would appreciate any help I could get. I have attached a picture of the board.

                Thanks in advance...

                Electrical heater controler

                Hy guys!

Today Im posting a few photos from my electrical heater controller.

The thing is that it turn on just right but as soon as the backlit comes in when I press the UP / DOWN temperature buttons the displays fades at such a point that the display fades completely progressively in 1-2 secons, its noticeable the display fading away, then the backlit stays really weak and the power LED goes out.

Everything comes back to normal after a 10 seconds that is the time the backlit should remain ON while i change the temperature setting.

                Besides...
