    Coolermaster PSUs?

Does anyone have first hand experience with these? I've been offered a job lot of them at a suspiciously low price... Are they reasonable enough, or rebadged L&C/Deer style crap?

    Thanks guys.

Nevermind, just saw kc8adu's post in the pictorial. I should have tried searching for "cooler master" as well as "coolermaster" Look OK for a cheap PSU...

      Cooler Master is two words.

The eXtreme Powers are either Hipro or Seventeam (depending on output.)

The Real Power units are Acbel.

Either way, decent stuff if you know how to read a PSU label (like the 600W actually being a 500W, etc.)
Rest in peace BFG. You were... a job...

Testing ATX PSUs under load - Does loading the ATX 24 pin also load EPS & PCIE?
        by AJ847.63e
        Hi Folks,

Just wanted to clear up a misunderstanding of mine (or what I expect is one). Isn't the 12V rail from the 24 pin, EPS and PCIE separated? IE if I put a power resistor on the ATX 12V pin that is not going to load, thus tell me if the EPS or PCIE rails are fine?

I was recently watching ArIs from Hardware Busters video on how to properly test ATX PSUs without using 5 figure Croma substations.

The PCB adapter he used breaks out the 12, 5 and 3.3V pins from the 24 pin and gives you banana plugs to connect to. That is a bit useless is it not? Aren't...

DEER B350ATX PSU - tips on making it safer and "better"
        by kotel studios
        Hi,

Since it looks like my excellent power PSU chances at living are now close to zero, I decided to give a shot at upgrading this DEER B350ATX PSU.
At first glance it looks like, well.... a shitty cheaped out DEER garbage (cause it is). Although it does have an LF 1250CD00 filter transformer (at least I think that's what it is) 😆
Tiny heatsinks, small transformators, single-pole ON/OFF switch. You name it.
Now since this one works, I'd like to know how can I make it safer and better (besides burning it with napal 😃). My plan is to make the switch double-pole...

        Veineda 1660 Super (pny xlr8 1660 super rebadged) - fan 100%
        by Kashi1712
        Hello all,

I have a veineda 1660super ( this is a rebadged pny 1660super xlr8, same pcb, same fans, same cooler)

Card is working fine, sensors reports fan speed at 32% but they are running at 100%. I thought it was only a fan issue, so decided to replace them but still same issues.... Wondering if I've not a problem with wiring.

Could someone that have one of both veineda or pny, post the cable wiring for the fan? (Color and order) or send the model of fans' on yours?

Also, if somebody have multimeter reading for each pin for the fan...

Crest Smart Home Single Power Adaptor SHSPM1 (rebadged Tuya device) - bad cap causing failure, how to repair
        by mrdevil
        Hi all,

Wanted to share this as I couldn't find anything on the internet about this problem, so pulled one apart and found the problem myself. Years ago I bought approx 20 or so Crest Smart Home Single Power Adapter smart switches - small 240v Tuya-compatible (rebranded) smart switch devices with power monitoring, which Big W had on sale for half price. Paid $7.50 each for these, and they've been incredibly useful for turning things on and off remotely... and monitoring how much power each device uses.

However, after about 12 months, I had a number of these stop working...

Modding Two PSUs to Output 12V
        by RukyCon
Hello again, this might be a bit of a far-fetched question, but is it possible to modify a 36v and a 48v power supplies to output 12v? Both power supplies appear to use the same topology, they both also have a dedicated 12v winding wired to the control chips, meaning that as soon as i change it so the main output is 12v, then the dedicated windings will not be able to output 12v, meaning it will not start up. However, if i were to then take the main output and tie it to where the dedicated 12v output would go, then it should be able to run fine?

Anyway here is a quick overview of...
