We would need internal pics to really determine that. My guess is that it is good for 200W if it is a typical gutless wonder, 250W if it is not too bad on the inside (a decent input filter, not microsized secondary caps, the "35" sized transformer)

Well, its got a non-existent transient filter, but the transformer looks decently sized, and the heatsinks look exactly like a seasonic 300W that I have.

Those small caps are BH brand, looks like another one of logisys's OEM's.

I've seen a logisys 575W run a 8800gts sli'd computer running cod4 on high settings just fine. But the 575W logisys actually has a complete input filter and a bridge rectifier.

I can't really tell you if it will blow up if you use it without complete inside shots, but if you were to fix it up like I did to my 350W rosewill, then it might do ok for your setup

                    how much was it?

If it was something like $50, I would take it back, as that is wayyyy too much for that. Your old dynex is much better built than it.

I don't know. I would return it and get a more reputable brand like corsair, antec, or even fsp. Or you could get the 400W delta that surfaces on ebay for cheap.

But it might actually be a decent psu, just we would need internal shots which would ruin your warranty.

                        This 400W delta:

                        http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Gateway-Delt...d=p3286.c0.m14

Has a pci-e connector, lots of sata connectors that each have their own little cover, but only a 4 pin cpu connector.

There is also a 550W AcBel power supply you can get for about $15, but it dosen't have pci-e. Someone here has a link to the website that you can buy it from.

Goldenfield's upper end units are CWT. The lower end units like the S628 appear to be Huntkey.

                            This is the 410:

                            http://big5.thethirdmedia.com/g2b.as...3300c26p1.html

Huntkey is nearly always overrated by 100W. Some of theirs can be decent. Emphasis on the words "can be."

I guess new PCI-E video cards come with an adapter, so that shouldn't be a big issue.

Is there a warranty sticker stuck between the lid and the main case of the power supply that has to be ripped to remove the lid?

If there isn't, then if you want to take a risk just remove the screws carefully and take off the lid carefully, without damaging the finish on that power supply.

If there is, don't open it.

At a slightly better price than the Dynex, along with what appears to be a nice black finish on its case.

Phaihn: just use the Dynex, it's not that bad of a power supply at all. Besides, I don't think your system will go over 200 watts even at full load.

If there isn't, then if you want to take a risk just remove the screws carefully and take off the lid carefully, without damaging the finish on that power supply.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Hi all, I just need to know that, can i use SMPS type power supply to test and short circuit detection on a laptop motherboard?
I saw 95% of repair guys are using only Linear bench power supply. linear bench power supply is pricy, thats why i planned to get one SMPS supply.

i know that in linear power supply the noise will be very low comparing to SMPS supply....

                                            Hello Everybody,

Trying to repair a power supply from a Russound CA4 Multizone Controller (picture attached)

Russound no longer supports it but were kind enough to provide a schematic of the power supply (pdf attached).

The outputs marked 12v and 20v are all measuring only 1v.

The board is clicking, which I think means it is in something called hiccup mode when the flyback transformers switches because of an internal problem or something else on the board Overloading it.

The capacitors physically look clean (no bludgesor leaks) and...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
                                            by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...
