Delphi 28242585 radio power supply section

    Hello everyone,

Trying to identify what the chip in the photo is. It is a component in the power supply section of a Delphi radio model 28242585 which is in a Volskwagen Jetta. Pin 1 is measuring 198 ohms to ground so I think I might have to change it.

Does anyone know what this is ?

    Thank you!

Thank you R_J! Is it my understanding that pin 1 is where you have the < sign ?

the picture looks like you have solder balls between some of the "pins"

Hi STJ, no it's just a reflection, checked it out and it is fine.

I think I might have found where my problem is in the same power supply. Attached is a photo that I am trying to identify the component circled in red. If you look at the resistors around it, they are all giving me in the k ohms readings, while one of them is giving me 321 ohms, which is the reading I am getting from positive to ground on this power rail.

Any idea what that component in the circle could be and is that resistor value good, or has it semi-shorted?

            Many thanks!!

?? do you have a lithium cell in there to back the memory up?

Not that I can see, and I have another 3 other of the same IC and 2 of them don't use that pin where the 321 ohm resistor is but the other one does and it is again a 321 ohm resistor.

Could they be using this for another type of application, this is a car radio?

probably just another company using the same code - it's a common problem
