Thank you hardware1. I programmed the bin dump you send me but sadly did not help. I get the 3.3V & 5v & even the 3.3v Power ON/OFF on the pin 1 on the keyboard connector but does not turn on the motherboard. Is there anything else you can do to get this working. ThanksComment

Perhaps something related to SIO, water damage or short circuit somewhere.
You didn't mention if you have a Power issue or something else, it's better to post in the Hardware forum.

I need help with my Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. Its original GeForce 8600M GT graphics card failed, so I replaced it with an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT MXM card.
**Problem:** The laptop powers on, but there is no display (black screen) on either the internal LCD or external monitor. This indicates a BIOS compatibility issue with the new graphics card.

. I'm new to this stuff and I'm obviously missing some important steps.
I have some Acer Spin SP514-54N laptops I wanted to make some changes to the BIOS for.
Using a CH341 USB Bios tool I read the bios successfully. Downloaded a backup copy. Copied that and opened it in a hex editor (HxD). I changed the windows key in the bios after following the guide to find the hex marker. Changed the 25 digits and then compared to the original bios file, and made sure that was the only differences.

Was trying to update the bios and the system froze on the post screen with an RST/SMART error about the hdd.
Forced a restart at which point the fans and case leds would turn on but the screen would stay black.
Read through the guides on how to get the bios .bin from Acers .cap file and i am unable to figure it out.
Dumped a backup of the bios chip for backup....
