On this machine hdd I found a 13mb file in Acer(D/windows/firmware wich has the same name as the bios. It is a .cap file and dates from before I owned this pc. Could this possibly be helpful. I'm not that knowledgeable but I ran MEanalyser and it stated there was no management engine present.
Unfortunately it's the only backup I have, I wasn't aware of the flash descriptor lock before I formated the winbond bios chip. I did try to back it up one more time with the ch341a before formating but the file is corrupted and show 0 bytes because It wasn't properly connected or the programmer was sending 5v instead of 3.3v(another issue I wasn't aware at first)...
Is there possibly a generic bios that could allow me to boot into windows even only once and then update an official acer file from windows? ...
If nobody can help with the bios dump, I'd appreciate it alot if somebody could point me in the right direction on what and how to retrieve and fix the missing parts of my bios, I'm totally lost in regards to bios "modding"
If nobody has a schematics , I'm looking for more info on a very small switch that is called WPI on the board, located close to the side io, thanks alot !
Yes I have a ch134 programmer, the winbond chip is currently desoldered from the board I'm connecting to it via an adapter not the sop8 alligator clips.
I already dumped the original bios before formating the chip and flashing new acer website bios.
But i did so with afuwin from windows and my original dump is missing headers and Intel me and possibly boot code as I was not aware of the existence of those in bios files before a few days ago. And Ok I will do another thread for the schematics, many thanks
to make a long story short I bought this all in one used
with a broken lcd, with the objective of making a custom desktop out of it
,it was working perfectly but unfortunately this motherboard default settings does not show post or bios on external screen, I tried everything and every cable/port/screen also ext gpu or internal i also tried to navigate blindly because I could access bios without seeing...
