    Lenovo Flex5 1570 Bios

    Hi all,

I'm hoping you can guide me right after I accidentally cut off power to my Flex 5 1570 during an update.
When I now switch on, apart from the keyboard light coming on for a few seconds, and then going back off, nothing happens, and I cannot boot or get to the bios.
After reading various forums this afternoon, I've downloaded the update from Lenovo and extracted the bios (attached). I don't have a backup of the original bios.

    Here's the Lenovo version
    https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/es/en/p...me=BIOS%2FUEFI

Where I'm confused now is with the following…

I've read below instructions to just put my newly cut Bios.bin in a USB, and try to boot, but have also seen several comments about people losing the machine serial number, windows key, wifi mac etc.
    https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Gaming-...SB/m-p/5026109
If I can get the machine booting with this method, will I be able to then extract the defective bios, and then edit and reinstall with the missing data?
Or do I need to get a CH341 programmer in order to recover this info first, before trying to boot with the new bios?

If I need to go the programmer route, do I need to solder, or can I just read out the data i need via usb?

Thanks for you guidance and Merry Christmas

    Re: Lenovo Flex5 1570 Bios

Buy the CH341A programmer with a sop8 clip , make 2 backups first and compare them to make sure both are the same, then post your backup here.
There is a virgin bios in another thread, your serial and key can be copied to it from your backup https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71948

Edit: Use ASProgrammer,Colibri or NeoProgrammer software, you`ll find them all posted on the forum. The supplied software is trash

        Hi again,

I've spent the past few hrs getting my head round getting windows to recognize the programmer and positioning the clamp so that it read the chip...but finally success.
I read out 2 copies with Neoprogrammer, and compared with Beyond Compare2..are identical.

In the zip is one of my dumped files, as well as the Bios and update files I made last week, in case of any use.
I'd appreciate it if you can help me put the pieces back together.

        Cheers and Happy New Year

BTW, @SMDFlea is the merging of the defective and the reference Bios something I should be attempting myself?

                  Greetings badcaps community,

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.

                  I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.

These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

                  I learned that desoldering...

                  Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15-AST 81D6 BIOS Recovery
                  by jendkkd jeje
So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...

So far I've been a silent reader, but now I need your help

I bought a laptop. The seller said the bios was locked. I was looking for a way to remove this ban.
I then got the CH341A and pulled the corresponding files from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...evices-and-ele...
The laptop was brought in with a BIOS problem and a password. After reading the dump, the information was damaged. I ask for help in the BIOS with a clean ME region. Motherboard 213035-1. Serial number: PW+04e998, Type number: 21c3-0016ge

The laptop was working fine, the only problem was that when I turned it on, the screen was hard to turn on, it would wait for about 30-40 seconds before an image appeared on the screen.
Initially, I updated from windows to Intel Management Engine 11.8 Firmware, restarted, everything was fine.
Then I updated the bios, also from windows, to the last vs, vs 46. It restarted, those lines with bios update progress appeared, restarted and that's it, since then...

Help Disabling Flash Protection Range Registers on Lenovo P360 Tiny BIOS
                  by abhorsen
                  Hey guys,

Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.

Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27

Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...
